Wishes are lovely things but only if they come true.
I never had family life when I grew up ..always at boarding school since I was 6 and 1/2 till I was nearly 22.
No Christmases, Easters or Summer holidays with them..When I was a child I wished to be together as a family. I was always terrified they would die while far away.
Many times I wish they would have been there to protect me from the nuns..They scared the hell out of me when I was 8 telling me I was headed to hell cause I wasn't baptised.
I really did a lot of wishing when I was a kid ..but as I grew up I learnt it was a waste of time..cause none of mine came true.
Anyways, I love the optimistism in your poem and I feel the little boy will have more luck than me.

You'd place them, "OVER" your bed...and they'd shoo away fear and dread. If you uncapped their light...yes, they'd surly take flight...fly to your bosom and hug you tight. When we wish upon a star! Yes, dreams and hopes would be good to keep in a jar and let loose every once in a while. Very nice rhyming poem of dreams with a unique picture to match.
