I'm beginning to love the Tanka poetry form just because of lovely writes like this contest entry. I loved your closing line. Very philosophical. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

It's a beautiful thing when we are aware of changes that redirects our path and there is a unified clarity. Well said in your spiritual tanka. Best wishes in the contest!

A very well-written Tanka. We become aware of changes in our lives sometimes and we suddenly see we were wrong and we now find ourselves on the straight path along with others who can see the same stars.

Those corners certainly always have something waiting around them, don't they?! ;) :) A lovely tanka offering, sir -- that 'pivot' is brilliantly accomplished and love the outward emotional reach at the end... makes the heart smile for the evening! ;) Thanx so much for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

This is a keen presentation with a black background and centered white lettering and wonderful artwork, that adds distinction to the message of this tanka. I love the message of when you're "blissfully aware," sometimes, I would add, "everything looks bright." In my experience being the ultimate of awareness can be a very frightening and hurtful place to be. It depends what the awareness brings forth. But, putting that view aside, I liked your message and am very glad for folks like you, who can be blissfully aware, and see everything as bright. Thanks for the positive inspirational poem.
Take care, Jesse

And I agree, originally the title was "blissfully unaware" to many syllables and I couldn't find another way out, thank you for your excellent review and comments, as always very much appreciated****kahpot

I see. That would have a whole other ring to it. Too bad the syllable count was wrong for what you intended. I still liked it anyway. I am glad you liked my review.

Good entry here my friend. Your tanka is a fine example of exactly how it is to be done.
"walking the straight line
all views sharing the same path"
Good luck with this one. Bob

A very inspiring and uplifting piece that captures the joy of knowing one has found the right path. Walking the straight and narrow with the stars above to guide us. Beautiful sentiments expressed in just a few lines.

Hi Kahpot, Wouldn't that be something... all views converging to see as one. Like that's ever going to happen! Ask two people about the same thing and they won't see it exactly the same way... you know that! ;)

I admired your reflections about life in this 5-7-5-7-7 tanka. Your embedding your words into the artwork and adding alliteration is quite effective. Best wishes in the contest- Joan
