Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Great descriptions of the little drone type creatures and the colours as it's temper was rising. Loved the plump blueberry who seemed to get it under control. Very creative characters Yvette,
cheers

A clever story. Lots of odd creatures . You can make as many as you want. So many things a large garden can harbor. How is the weather there? 27%, overcast with no snow here. karen

What a creature did appear! It sounds like some kind of an octopus with several limbs on the body. I thought it would be another gnome creature, although the voice sounds very high pitched!

Oh, these guys are definitely a bit of trouble... ;) :) But quite entertaining! ;)

Very exciting, though slightly alarming! Those imps are quite pesky. But apparently their novelty outweighed their sting, because Nicholas seemed more delighted than upset by his encounter with the creature. And then, after all that, it was undone by a blueberry! Very creative and intriguing.

'Its skin transitioned from that blue-green to purple and, finally, to bright red as the buzz of its wings increased to more of a whine. It looked like a little red chili pepper about to explode.' (I could easily picture this drone-Iike bug getting angry and ready to explode with fury. Hehehe!)

Wow, imps in the drawer with the paper rolls and the rectangular box. Who doesn't immediately sit up at attention for paper rolls and rectangular boxes? I do!
So, Constantine has had dealings with these imps before ... I wonder how they treated George Thrasher? How will they test Nicholas?
Love the flying blueberries. The imps are colorful in appearance and characteristic's.
"funny vibrato flavor" just stands out in a bad way... doesn't sit right. I think that it's because "vibrato" is a noun and it's being used as an adjective here. Also the use of "flavor" for a sound seems weird. Just "funny vibrato" is enough...?
The use of a lot of "z's" is great, because "z's" are funny, and kids love to hear them.
"small wisp of aqua smoke" --- priceless!
The re-visiting of the aqua smoke is very effective.
exploding red chili peppers--yeah!
lengthy description of imp's physical appearance and actions--lovely.

Great job here! I"m hooked.
Lucy

Great to have you hooked - I really do enjoy these little guys (all of them!!)... ;) ;) Look for some more adventures in a couple of weeks (trying to rein in these last 'hindrances' round here...). ;) Take care! Yvette

Those imps; I'm tellin' ya. It has been awhile since I read this so I skimmed the others and remembered the glowing drawer opening. Neat. Onward.

Hi Yvette, so the story continues and seems like Nicholas has great fun, until Constantine intervenes. Now, I'm looking forward to what's next.
Also, congratulations on your win. Kind regards. Ulla xx

I love that we get to see his perspective on them, what he thinks they are not what they truly are. Those flying creatures sure sound interesting. Haha, oh no, I think he is getting himself in more trouble. I love the ending it makes me wonder what else could be coming.
