I enjoyed reading this fun, irrelevant and original story about an undertaker and his wife, a fun and fast 50 words funny story. For sure you have great materials in store for us. Nice to read.

This was perfectly timed on two counts, Lisa May. First, I read it while sitting in a car at a cemetery, waiting for a funeral to begin. Second, after the funeral, I visited my aunt and uncle, who live nearby. My uncle is a punster extraordinaire, so I had the chance to show him a few of your works. You received his seal of approval.
I love the idea of a mortician named "Mort" with a wife named "Sharon" (yes, I've read my Greek mythology), and laughed out loud at the "his and hearse cars." I'm curious to know what the corpse find out when they finish their investigation. ;-)

Really? The corpse was still coughing? Help. When we first moved to a small town (where I was raised) our church was held in the front room of the mortuary. Well, it sure made some good "tales" for me to tell school friends - about how noises were heard from the back room - and a body raised up...guess I've always loved to tell storie.s
Good job on this.

A very well-written fifty-word relationship commentary about the life with an undertaker. It will be quite a somber relationship with all the bodies awaiting to be buried it cremated.

I think I counted 10 puns or nearly so. Mort is a perfect name for a mortician. I guess Barry must have been another option. It seems experience does not keep even the best of undertakers from making errors. I bet if you ever expand this one, Sharon could develop her talents as a serious artist, with her favorite medium being grave markers. Fun post, as always.

A cute one, again, with witty and clever puns sprinkled throughout it. I was wondering how you were going to handle the undertaker, but you did a fine job with this. A fun read!!

Haaaaaa, this is another amazingly good fun addition to your series. I really like the line about the corpse still investigating his incinerating the wrong body. The terminal method for finding the truth.
Love this series and I hope you write a whole bunch more. :)

Oh my, that turned bad pretty fast! Nothing like burning up the wrong body! Haha! I been sick and doing a lot of coffin so I'd better keep away from those two! LoL!
Another excellently done witty Piece! So good!! xoxo

Hi Lisa Good one mate, you have cremated a fun story in 50 words. Perhaps Mort need to get a shovel instead. Clever in word play LOL Cheers Chris

This particular 50 word story of life with an undertaker is well constructed and raises a chuckle at the same time - clever use of appropriate language - nice pic !
