All those nice soft "s" sounds make this seem like this poem should be read in a soft, whispering voice. It comes across as light as a feather attempting to lift that jaded soul to a higher level and lighten its load.

Yeah, softness is what's in order sometimes, ya know? :) We do all need a place of shelter from the comments and the harshness that life can be sometimes and even if that's just silence and another's breathing, that's good, too. :) :) May sunshine and solace find you this weekend, W.J.! ;) Yvette

Sweet and kind words comfort a sad soul. I like the picture with your poem. For sure when you are sad, a kind words a smile make a whole lot of difference in the long run!

In my opinion, a beautiful poem, in verse, imagery, dramatic color shading and presentation in its entirety - in unforced and smoothly elegant compliance with the prompt - best wishes to a serious contest contender...

My opinion was shared by many, and rightly so.. Congratulations, Yvette, on your First Place win, but I am not at all surprised, rather I expected it - a truly "Exceptional" poem, and I am delighted with the assents. I hope the weather is shining for you as well, wherever you are, because you must continue to be in the type of surrounding that inspires your exquisite gift. Thank you for your gracious words of sunshine and solace, dear Lady - very much appreciated...Eve

This gorgeous post is so soothing. I don't know which I prefer the most--silken whispers or silence. They both caress my jaded soul. Your word choices are so pretty and your image works well with the jaded reference.
This one might be another winner.

I cannot imagine you have a jaded soul, MQ! Or do you just hide it well.... ? I've gotten quite good at camouflage myself.... :) :) Thanx so much, Beautiful B'ham Bud!! ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

My daughter complains that she never knows what I am really thinking. I do camouflage.

This is an interesting five line poem and an excellent contest entry. The words convey a simple message. I like the word "jaded" in this context. Nice picture too.

How do you keep coming up with these great poignant poems from a "jaded" soul? It must not be as jaded as you think. Is that your kind of humor? good luck in the contest.

Maybe not, but I'm a work in progress... :) :) Thanx so much, Bill!! Your comments and those lovely stars are certainly a bright spot to all the gray clouds and rain that seems to hover around here these days...ugh. :) ;) Seriously, though, I am truly glad you enjoyed this one... we do all need a place of shelter from the comments and the harshness that life can be sometimes and even if that's just silence and another's breathing, that's good, too. :) :) Thanx again, sir -- and may sunshine and solace find you this week! ;) Yvette

"Silken whispers caress my spirit" I read this yesterday and wasn't ready to respond, but these words have been softly flowing through my mind ever since I first read them. I think that says a lot! This I believe is a winner.

Oh, Susan -- that's the best review I think I've read in a long time... the fact that you carried it with you? That means everything!! :) Thank you for that and thanx for your awesome comments! :) But, you know, it's true: we do all need a place of shelter from the comments and the harshness that life can be sometimes and even if that's just silence and another's breathing, that's good, too. :) :) May sunshine and solace find you this week, my lady! ;) Yvette

This is a lovely five line poem, perfect for the contest. The First two words are beautiful, silken whispers. I think we all need quiet solace for the soul. The image you used, and blended in with the colors of the font, make a beautiful presentation. Good luck in the contest!

Dear Yvette,
"Murmurations" - what a beautiful word in itself! I really admire the way you have structured your wording to provide great metre and thus enhance the reading pleasure of the poem's message itself. A stellar read.
Regards
Reg

Like that, eh? I had to look it up to make sure I hadn't imagined it because didn't recognize it when I typed it in (was highlighted as misspelled - lol!) :) :) Thanx so much, Reg, for dropping by on this one...
