A very emotional and heart wrenching 100 word fash fiction. It is filled with so much imagery and sadness. I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Best wishes. Jen.

A great picture choice for your flash story. 100 words to tell a complete story is a monumental task.

"A tsunami of tears flooded her eyes." My favorite line.

Best of luck with the 100 Word Flash Fiction contest.

"A tsunami of tears flooded her eyes." My favorite line....Mine too! Thank you! Some felt that was a bit over the top, but I guess you have to live it to truly understand it. Thank you for reading and for your kind words. Have a great day!

Begin Again: I like the images of the fire and memories together.
Heart ache is hard when you miss someone and are alone. Maybe,
they died and you treasure the thoughts together. Hugs. flylikeaneagle

I'm glad I saved my last six for this. A dear friend lost her husband a month ago and I saw her, no, felt her, from your first words. You captured this beautifully. I just hope this isn't autobiographical.

My condolences to your friend. I, too, feel the pain of losing people you love dearly. I love both my parents and my husband within the last 14 months and life will never be the same. i appreciate your wonderful review and the awarded stars beyond words.. .understanding the steps of grief is different and yet the same for all. One day at a time as they say...Smiles and hugs!

Yes, one step at a time . I se the magnitude of your loss. We lost two sons. The grief does soften over time, but it?s still a rocky road we would prefer not to travel. Do you have children or siblings?

Yes I gave birth to 3 sons and 2 girls. My first son was born with a skull fracture and he is handicapped. My second son
passed away at 4 yrs , my daughter passed away at 44, and my my grandson died at 17. My youngest girl and son are still with me. Life is great if you don't weaken...Smiles and hugs!

Even though your story was short, it conveyed a lot of emotions through the text and made me feel very sorry for the narrator at the end. Great job creating realistic characters in a short format!

How sad. People are so lucky to have a lifetime of love, but I can only imagine the grief when it comes to an end. I think people really do die of broken hearts. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for taking the time to read and to share your thoughts. I appreciate it very much. I've had many tragedies in my life but losing my husband has been the hardest to come to terms with I guess. Reality is one thing but my heart is another. Thanks again

What a sad 100-word fash fiction. I could feel the joy and comfort your first words brought and then the ending turned it sad. You did a great job. Good luck in the contest. Shirley

What a sad ending to a really lovely flash fiction story. The fire does look warm and inviting, but those memories were from times past, and now the flames can no longer keep the her warm, not without her lover to help stoke the flames. Well done, a really nice story, told in 100 words. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Writing helped me after my husband died. It's something you can pour your heart into and either keep private or share. I wish you well. Your name handle is a good one. xx

Oh, that is so sad! I can quite understand how hard that must be, three people who were so dear to you. That is so cruel! I'm really so sorry. Take care, my friend. xxx
