What awesome therapy and a true emotional outlet for so many memories. I'd thought of writing a memory diary but wondered if anyone would care besides me, but I believe it must be a good thing. To relive important moments (even if they are just ours) keeps the spirit (theirs and ours) alive. I enjoyed reading and getting to know you. Thank you for sharing. Smiles and hugs!

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. I think you should write it. I'm surprised at how many claim biographies are their favorite. My children like it and I started doing it for them.

I loved reading this and was engrossed to the end. I don't think the importance of writing down our personal histories can be overstated. I am sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing this piece.

Well done, Beth. I had no desire to attend college. I took a vocational course in High School titled 'Distributive Education.' I worked in a ladies wear, dress shop and was learning the dry goods business. I always looked forward to being a wife and mother. I am enjoying your story. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy, I appreciate you continuing to read. I don't feel any better educated than anyone else but my parents always wanted me go, and I'm glad I did.

A very well-written addition to your 'Loving Steps of Us', Beth -- thoroughly enjoyed! ;) Too bad the algebra experience is becoming more common even with 'non-coach' teachers as parents/schools simply demand that students pass with high marks to 'keep the peace'.... and I had to seriously laugh out loud with your 'pubic' beard - LOL! ;) Thanx for sharing your heart! ;) Yvette

This is an engaging chapter that does a good job of making me feel like I was there. What a wonderful legacy to later generations to know so many details about your earlier life. I wish my parents had done something like this Or that I'd asked more questions about their early years before they passed Way.

That is the main reason I'm doing this because I want our children to know us as we were when we were younger. I'm also into genealogy and I wish my ancestors had left more behind so I could know what they were like. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Beth, first of all: congratulations! Such a wonderful idea to write your remembrances as if you were talking to your late husband. It works very engagingly and draws me in as if I was overhearing the conversation.

I almost feel the atmosphere of a college student. Married young, but with the studies still to finish. I loved the part of the not-being-able-to-buy-a-Christmas tree and then having one just the same. Nice surprise of your husband!
New to me is that migraine can be just imagination; if you are aware of that it could go away! Hmm interesting thought.

Very (maybe a little bit too much) complete description of this episode of your last college time. A joy to read. No suggestions to change.
