I feel this story! My grandson is Bipolar 1 with psychosis and his story is basically the same. It is difficult for others to understand.

Thank you for sharing your story!

xoxo

Thank you for reading. It is hard for others to understand, except those who are experiencing it. I'm sorry about your grandson.

Your poem is informative and interesting. I enjoyed reading it and it flows well with a caring message of love and support for a love-one with a health problem of Schizophrenia. Your artwork choice goes well with your thoughts. Best wishes!

Your poem really resonated with me. I have a family member who has schizophrenia. It is a rough road for him. I can't imagine what he goes through. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you reading and sharing your story. It's been hard, but medications help along with his Doctor's support. All you can do for your family member is to be there for him. Thanks again.

This certainly sounds like a true story of battling mental illness together. I admired your focus on the description of the "voices". Best wishes in coping with this challenge and having your Two-Stanza Poem well-received in the contest- Joan

Everything about this poem is exceptional! You really layed your emotions out for us in such a raw way. I know how it feels to love someone with a mental illness. I'm sure your love for your son doesnt go unnoticed by him. Thank you for sharing such a personal part of yourself with us.

Someone I Love....is a beautiful poem about a Schizophrenic person. Mental disease is so horrible for the victim and his/her family. I know. I suffer from bipolar disease and it has not been an easy journey. Thank god I have a good doctor and medications that help me live a normal life but there was a time when it wasn't so easy. Well, done!

Thank you for reading. I'm sorry that you struggle with bipolar. My son has had mental illness since he was 21. We have learned to cope, and the medication helps. I appreciate your comments. :)

This is a well written and sad poem. However it's great to hear that you are a mom who loves her son and sticks with him regardless. Great job and keep writing. Bill

I concentrated mainly on the content here and this is a frightening problem, with no meter or rhyme you explain how you are inextricably linked here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Cannot imagine what those that suffer from such go through.... but your offering this evening is quite novel in that 'you' are the voice (or at least one of them...) - well done! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)

This is an extremely powerful poem, daring to deal with a difficult subject of love in the face of mental illness. Despite the misunderstandings of this subject in the general population, the author has done an admirable job, both in the story and the form. Congratulations, especially for the concept "the voices [in his head] rule his life, with respites every now and then."
