A very well-written poem about leaning over from the wheelchair to touch a rose us quite an effort for someone in a wheelchair to do without either falling forward or let the chair slips out underneath you.

Fortunately, I haven't been confined to a wheelchair myself, but I have pushed many people confined to one and they undergo a lot of difficulties. Your comments are right on target and I appreciate them very much, Sandra!

-Nice artwork and
presentation, Janet.
-You have a good poem
with the seasonal land
nature imagery.
-You paint a vivid
word picture of the
person in the wheelchair
who appreciates this lovely rose.
-Good luck in the contest.

Wonderful poem!

It's innate to love beauty. The old, feeble, disabled, sick, even children are pleased with beautiful things or smells. The majority of people appreciate beauty whether or not they think about it.

Beautiful. I see the world from my wheelchair, I see many beautiful things that you do not. I smell the flowers, pat a small dog, see a crack in the concrete that maybe I will get caught in. Leaning Over caught my eye, because wheelie's see a different world to you. Love, K.

Thoughts of you really did come to mind as I was writing this, my friend. (With all those fires happening nearby, you were still able to share some wonderful postings. That's a spirit of loveliness equal to anything found in the natural world.) xo

Thank you my dear friend. Many lessons are learned when power is taken away and instead, wisdom takes it's place. Love, Kay.

Such a great mental picture you have created with so few words.

I can see (in my mind) a little old lady who doesn't get out often enjoying the rose garden.

Best of luck in the Haiku Poetry Contest contest.

(leaning over) minimal format, is short, succinct and very much to the to the point. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I have updated the posting so it has a different name now. The haiku takes a change in direction but the emotional content is the same. Thank you for a wonderful review! :-)

I did not know that the contest allowed minimum syllable count .Anyway In thirteen syllables you were able to present a very poignant picture .Disability is not a problem for enjoying nature.

Hello Janet. The picture you made for this is really interesting. The message from the haiku is graphic and mentally visible for the reader. Good luck in the contest

So glad to see that you are writing again. I love your quote about the lady who touches a rose from her wheelchair. I must ask if you alright after the tornado in TN last night.

I truly appreciate your concern about the TN tornado. I live in Memphis, however, so we are all okay in this area . It is a horrible tragedy. Hugs, Janet
