An interesting mixture of Halloween tales. The text size made reading them easier. The man mimicking Biggie Small's fiasco reminded those offended of the minstrel days. Days when Blacks were often mimicked not in a fun-loving way but in a demeaning manner creating the stereotype, they were dumb, big-lipped, too sloven and lazy to amount to anything.
i do feel you should have won the Dirt Devil contest. I will check out some of your other writings later.

Nice to see you, Sandra! I know you and Midi--one of my best (mutual) fans--recently connected over her wacky humor. Thrilled you stopped by -- I'll let her know. We have an ongoing email flurry.

Everyone has their prejudices, even when it comes to Halloween costumes. Your's sounds truly original. You did a great job on this story. Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon. Shirley

Thanks, Shirley! Nice to see you.

The poor guy wasn't in the stereotypical "blackface" such as he was accused of. I appreciate your taking the time to read a four-part piece.

Liz,
you are soooo funny. I loved the bit about the poor fellow who unwittingly managed to offend the PC fools. Frankly, I would have found employment with people who had a sense of humor and a little common sense to boot. The dirt devil had me cracking up though. Last year you did a Halloween post that had me in stitches too. Your brain must move at a mile a minute. I don't attend Halloween parties myself, but my daughter who I guess loves having fun more that I do, attends them. Is your costume patented, or can I mention it to her. It was genius gal. Thanks so much for sharing this entertaining post.
Tom

Thanks to YOU, Tom. My costume is not patented! One-of-a-kind.

Surprisingly, nobody asked about my suction power, but a couple of guys tweaked my tits.

Oh Liz, you are always good for a laugh. I've got to let Jan see this. How could they possibly have resisted?
    Have a blessed evening gal.

Very funny, Liz! I ordinarily don't go near anything Halloween-ish, but because it is you, I gave your story a whirl, and it was neither evil nor ghoulish. I agree that the first part of your story shows political correctness gone haywire. The point of his costume was to impersonate a person, not to mock an entire race! The Palin costume was a riot, and you seemed to have pleased both the fans and the haters. You absolutely should have won for your Dirt Devil costume, but somebody's lame complaint, about boobs on a vacuum cleaner, seems to have carried the day (or carried them away). Who on earth expects REAL boobs on a vacuum cleaner? Gimme a break. Kudos to you, Scott and Chuck!

You do have a way with words, Miss Lizzy! This is the first time I've heard the suggestion of "tweaking" the boobs on a vacuum cleaner.
I've been about the same, my friend. Thanks for asking. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Blessings and Love, Mary Kay xoxo

This is very cute and very well written. It sounded like to me that the dirt devil should have won too! Sounds like you had a great costume made with help from your friends. Thank you for sharing. Good to see you on here! love, Teri

I had a similar experience. My son had a spiderman balaclava, and spent a good deal of time drawing a spider web on my red sweatshirt. All that and some blue sweatpants, and I truly looked like Spiderman. The winner was a clown!

I hate to admit I missed this one too. Now clue how but I am so glad you re-posted it. I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing.

Watts did not get a fair trial. Watts did not get a trial. (Did you mean for this to be duplicate?)

You've gotten in a habit of posting late in the week, so, as you might have figured out, this cowboy is always out of bullets by then. LOL. Any way, it doesn't mean I enjoy your writing any less. Contests: just a way for people to acknowledge those who have sucked up to them the most. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

LOL. I'm not much of a tit tweaker these days. And with suction power, there's usually an expected reciprocation. LOL. I'm anxious to see what you think about my latest post. Way outside my comfort zone. Hope all is well in your world!

Mr. Watts purely was the victim here. His motive was not to insult. His punishment was by the company over reaction and should have kept it in house instead of branding him with a scarlet letter.
The dirt devil would have and should have one with normal and intelligent judges with an eye for creativity.

Best wishes
Mary

This work has reached the exceptional level

First part of the work definitely calls out those ridiculous PC people who have placed a damper on truth-telling by their complaints. Loved the phrase, "tidbits spawned by Internet imps." But was stopped by the use of spawned again in proximity. Maybe another word like generated or engendered. Just my thought. The Dirt Devil idea and story is wonderful and the catty jealousy of the woman judge was described well. A wonderful write pointing to the effect of PC overreach.

Point taken as to duplicated word--unfortunately, I have no editing privileges here--I'm not an active (paying) member. I pay to relist prior posts but cannot amend the text.
