Like the Speaker here I am fascinated by the flight of birds--where they fly, how they fly, when they fly. Good use of implied metaphors here--no need for a traffic controller or a pilot's flight plan. They just "wing it." Delightful imagery. Rod

Yes, birds are lucky they aren't airplanes, aren't they? (Rhetorical question, of course.) Then again they never fare well without a flight plan when they meet up with an airliner. Though there seems to be something to the old expression, "free as a bird." Yet I do believe, now that I think of it, it's better to be a plane.

This is a cleverly worded poem and I enjoyed the freedom this poem promises as the birds take flight when us humans have to check into the airport and experience the hassle of boarding a plane! All flights are cancelled just now though! He he he, love Dolly x

Indeed! Birds can fly any time, anywhere. I wonder if they have excess baggage issues now and then though? Lol!
