Thank you for sharing these words of wisdom. There is nothing as powerful as common sense. Neither Lysol nor bleach. We need to just think before we act - with the intention of keeping everyone safe. That is the best way to conquer this plague.

Yes, the turmoil and panic is real and we should be careful - we also hope and pray that we can encourage and give hope to others - the only hope is Jesus Christ and His salvation.
Good poem to put all this into our hearts.

You are right. All must use common sense and common decency towards everyone. Your lines flow smoothly with a great, and current, theme. Hope awaits in the form of one's faith. Your art choice is a great pairing with your well-chosen words. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

A terrific write full of hope and encouragement. Whilst we can have faith and hope, we still need to practise safe hygiene which will restore peace and harmony and a wise lesson learned to those that survive. I think it is terrible that the old and frail are at risk. I have a 94 year old mum who is very healthy but I would not want to see her struck down with this nasty bug.
Great work and a thoughtfully constructed piece.
Cheers P

Excellent words to help us get through these difficult times. I hope we can all get through this and stay alive. You mention in poetic form some of the things we can be doing to help stop the spread of the virus. As you say, hope comes at a price, and there are things we can do as part of that price. Excellent, encouraging words, and excellent for the hope contest. Best of luck. In your last stanza, you don't need that comma between those and you. judi

Author, what a fine poem your have written for the Hope contest. The aim for prevention is no sacrifice at all and it is as simple as washing your hands, and staying home when you are not feeling well.

Excellent advice and a fine entry into the contest.

Best of luck to you in the booth.

On the news just a few hours ago, I saw people, mostly youth, having a ball on crowded beaches. My Lord, that invincible mindset of the young!!
Your poem is very well-written, realistic, and timely!

Jan so sadly I saw this too and shortly afterward I read that the 20-40 years are no showing up with the virus at the same rate as the 60+. I
would hope that common sense might just sit in at some point with these people. After all they do have something in this event for the long run for themselves -- they do need us around while longer so that they can learn what life really truly means, this isn't a stupid video game thing this is real!

Well, Mr.Flat Rock, NC :)
That is one firecraker of a hope poem. and all in verse!
You also hit on all important points and stayed on course. Very nice.
I don't think you're being selfish hoping everyone will stay alive. That's a lovely hope.
I love North Carolina. Went to Camp Greystone near Tuxedo in my youth, and some years later, slid down some falls in Flat Rock. Wore out my bathing suit. :) Beautiful area.

Katharine, what fond memories you do have! Every year the areas just seems to be like a picture book photo and the camps up to this year have been booming. My hope for you is that this coming weekend you can enjoy the flora and fauna and that doing so will bring about an extra measure of peace and calm during these stormy times.

thanks! Cool front came in last night and rain - lovely. It feels so strange not being able to go to the grocery store, etc. Guess this is a good time to un-clutter. :)
    Best wishes to you.

I think this is a good entry for the Hope writing prompt.
This verse telling of hope during the virus spread is well rhymed.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.
