This is a well-constructed poem, using the required words in such a way that it doesn't seem in the least contrived, but flows well.
Furthermore reading this poem jumped me back in time almost twenty years to when my last son was young. Now there was a boy who would do anything to play in the rain. As our immediate surroundings were the urban landscape, we had a totally different take on the subject than this piece - I've added it to my list of things to write about... one day.
I always have great respect for writing that can move me through time like that, opening memories that I thought had been lost forever.

Charming. So fresh and whimsical; lovely imagery--so clever. I love the lurking mist like kettle steam that slithered and coiled...that alone earns your stars. Plenty more where that came from. Cheers. LIZ
