Oh, ho, ho! Probably not as funny to the Frenchman as to Angela. Good humorous play on history. This could be even funnier if it could be a tad bit longer, with a few more details, but it's perfect as it is.

Your poem is really funny. It's a good entry for the 80 words humorous contest. Good word count. It's hard to write a complete story in a flash fiction. You did a great job.

This is an excellent proposition for the fifty words humorous story contest. If a bit like a sketch for a 100 words flash fiction. All the important bits are in place and who needs the padding for it to be funny (yes, I did laugh, quite heartily)

I love word play. Especially when it takes a minute to click in. It loses something if it take more than 5 minutes. Although that shouldn't be about the story. It is about the level of pun sensibility of the reader.
