Nicely done, as you weave in our obstacles, the masking - the distance, all the things Americans are so bravely doing. Weeding the garden yes - my husband and my bro/law down the street are outside just as much as they can be.

This 5-7-5 suite, We Mask Our Feelings, has the right set up times five and seems to take in the world around you and project it into a better future following the current depression. Onward.

Seems like you are resolving those dreams when day comes. Loved these lines:
"when moonlight muddles meanings.
Daylight brings insight."
Some masks you can see right through and others are rather hard. Hope you will write a post reviewing the different masks you've tried.

A very well-written 5-7-5 suite about wearing masks of different kinds through our lives. For every occasion we pick another mask to hide our true emotions to others.

I like the way each of these stands separately but then work well together.
I particularly like

My dreams are daunting

when moonlight muddles meanings.

Daylight brings insight.

Alliteration and wordplay--my favorites! DD--MMM...and rhyme daylight/insight...connect/disinfect. Social masks we wear are literal ones nowadays. Wishing you good B-Day dreams. Cheers (?) LIZ

This is a well written haiku suite about how coronavirus is changing our world. It is lonely and strange not to be able to talk normally to each other.
I like the pun with make up mask that cover our skin problem and facemaks for the virus and the psychological masks.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I think we all wear masks...all the time, there are some that are practical, to keep one safe, but others, such as feelings shouldn't, apart from hatred or vitriol, but appreciation of others should be. Well done LisaMay. Social distancing is terrible, my granddaughter who is very affectionate, and we've always been close, was told off for being near me, because of SD, she was told off by mum, she burst into tears, she doesn't understand, heartbreaking. Well done, blessings Roy

This is excellent, Lisa. We seem to wear different masks each day as our emotions fluctuate. Some days we're a bit more upbeat and the next down again. It's a roller coaster. I like the concept of masking our feelings. Maybe we're not even sure what we are actually feeling anymore. Marilyn

You did such a good job exploring masks, both the physical and emotional. I had a couple of weird dreams myself, being chased by wild animals. Yes, we all wear masks to some extent, not wanting everyone to know what we're thinking and feeling. In this age of Corona, that's being taken to a whole new level. Who needs to fake a smile when no one can see our mouths anyway. See, there's always a silver lining, haha. Hugs, Lou
