Well you sure left the others eating your dust in this contest, and no wonder. Congrats! Your poem re-imagines Shakespeare living in modern times in a very entertaining manner.

Thank you for the great review and stars, Lisa. Yeah, just wondering what he'd be like today. Plus, I just had to use this cool pic I came across. Lol. I hope all is well on your end.

This is quite a poem about Shakespeare, asking the question, who would he be -- what kind of man? what would he be like? -- if he lived in our times. You ask the right questions, wondering if he would be unassuming or brash; famous or shy; a badass womanizer or a sensitive loner, kind to animals? You're right, the picture is awesome.
Your closing lines really sum him up well; they're perfect.

Congratulations. I must confess I love the nickname Shakes and also the image on the Harley. I must further confess I hated Shakespeare at School. But the man's been considered a literary genius for over 400 years so I guess my opinion's wrong. A really good write.

Would he sport tats - that cover his body - or play mandolins with kittens. Your poem is creative and something to think about. From my mind, I think he would not do heavy metal - but he might chime in one some of Poe's type poems or Twilight Zone stories.

I really like this witty, clever, and very well thought out work that you've penned here. You pose some very good questions here. He did indeed grow up in a different era and could as you've so eloquently stated be a totally different person if born in this era. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking and well written work. Well done!

This is clever and the meter is one Shakespeare would certainly use. I like the clever musings about what Shakespeare would do in our day to put his talent to use. I've wondered the same about Bach. I could so see him doing heavy metal.

The painting and the poem were truly humorous imaginings of how the twenty-first century Bard might truly be. He looks like the Rap stars of today you captured the image perfectly.
