When we are young and--to a degree--selfish, we don't really comprehend the sacrifices our mothers make. This is a lovely, descriptive, and moving tribute to Mother.

You are blessed to be able to render such a tribute in your poem about your mother's silent sacrifices. Your poem renders the meaning artfully.
Mothers do not consider what they are doing is depriving them of doing something else. They simply know that all things are on hold while they deal with the most important things in their life. Raising children is a gift that few mothers would do without.

Hi Kahpot, This is a lovely tribute for the Mother's Day contest to a loving daughter, wife, and mother. Sometimes, we forget that a mother is, at times, all three at once. She sounds an extraordinary person. :)

A beautiful poem and tribute to your mother. I am sure she doesn't need thanks , just love. Mothers don't make sacrifices for their kids for thanks. Their reward is their children's happiness.happiness. nice one. Take care. Jen.

That's a beautiful poem. Your mother must of truly loved you. Nice visual imagery. Creative. Good repeats/repetition. Excellent work.
My mother had a wicked streak. I didn't know the depths of it until she told me, three or four months before her death in 2013. Now, I depise her in my memories.
God bless you.

Comment from Gloria ....
And what a lovely tribute to your mother this is, K. I like how you started with her as a girl, a wife and then a mother and developed the themes throughout each life passage.
Your poetic form is solid, but even of more importance is the solid respect and love for your mother.
I wish you much luck with the Contest Committee.
