I was a soldier during the cold war in Germany during much of the fifties. Glad to see you mention that time period. This remeinds me of my Mary who raised six while I struggled through with caring for my family. She too was a stay at home mom.
Your story hits home and it is very well written. That's alright about talking to the husband. I talk to my Mary as well.
Excellent write one of the best I have read today.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. It's sound like Mary had more to deal with than I did. I really appreciate the six stars

Dear Beth, this chapter was Well written as always, and life as you have described it was experienced by hundreds of thousands of other young American families.
Only the locations and the prejudices we're different. The worries and the things children did to frighten, frustrate and infuriate their parents were fairly distributed; North, South, East and West and all the spaces in between.

Your children are lucky to have their particular doings written down and hopefully treasured forever.

Hi Beth, I love it. You describe so well al the trials you had with your lively kids. I can also understand the need for a job, but would the cost of hired help to look after the kids not defy the whole purpose? So well written. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review and comments. I was afraid he was going to get laid off. If he did and I didn't have a job we might have to move way out in the country. I didn't want to risk that. Luckily he kept his job.

I am enjoying your story about your life raising your children, Beth. I had many such scary episodes in my life with my children as well, but we all made it this far with God's help. He has been good to us. Well done. I find the story interesting.Nancy:)

Out of my four boys I had one who always found something to climb on, and another one who enjoyed climbing. It's truly amazing that boys grow up to be adults, isn't it. My husband used to say, they were a tagged team match. One of them was having a disaster at all times. As we were solving one problem, another one was starting. LOL I am truly enjoying reading this.

Thank you so much Barbara. I really appreciate the six stars. I don't know how I would handled four boys. My husband had four siblings and all of them had nothing but boys. Counting the one who died, I had four girls. If I had gotten a bonus boy with with twins I might have had all girls. I'f I'd had two like Don I would have nuts for sure.

I like the timeless appeal of the stories she tells around the children's mishaps. I find her writing style to be clear and concise. Maybe tweak the paragraphs that are used to establish the time period of this segment. The paragraphs cover the 1950s and 1960s; the incidents occurred in the 1960's maybe???

Thank you for the review and comments. I've said the fifties are gone and it is the early sixties. The last chapter covers the death of Kennedy in in 1963, 1964 is in my notes. I see you rate it at four stars and this usually means you've found a lot of errors. Would you mind telling me what they are so I can fix them and you can upgrade.
