It is very tough right now. The residents are sad and lonely and it is frustrating for them. We just keep moving them alon

Therese,
This is a very touching and heartfelt poem you have penned, brought tears to my eyes. You are to be commended for the care you are giving to the many who are suffering during these difficult times. My best friend is in a assisted leaving facility and have been confined to her room for over a month now. A total of 16 have died, 80% are infected including staff and she had no idea what was going on until she saw on TV about what was going on in her facility. You did an outstanding job in the penning of this poem. Thanks for sharing and thanks for taking care of the residents in your facility.

This poem resonated with me personally, because we recently lost our 99-year-old aunt, who lived in a nursing home to the virus. I salute your brave efforts to help the rather defenseless. Your final images are very effective. Be strong and take good care of yourself- Joan

Comment from Ogden
Very sad, and unfortunately, true.
As we know, nursing homes have long been the final stop for the discarded or forgotten elderly.
(Due to the recent tragedies, apparently, legislation finally is forthcoming, aimed at improving nursing home conditions.)
Best wishes,
Ogden (Don)

This poem is well penned. It really strikes a chord with what is going on in nursing homes. The elderly are in all different states of mental health and are frail. This poem depicts the truth. Great job. -January L.

A very heartfelt piece of writing. Those of us not in this situation can only imagine what it's like, but your writing does a good job of helping us to understand. I hope the writing can bring some relief and comfort during this time.

Your poem really touched me. This is such a sad situation, made worse by the fact that dementia may be an issue for some of the seniors in these homes. You have captured the heartbreak the Corona virus has created in this environment.

WOW! The emotion is so real in your poem. It is certainly a sign of the times. I can't imagine the many questions that go unanswered because the families have to stay away. Great Job!

Very nicely expressed. "Broken Hearts" set a sadness mood of which the outcome was expected but not wanted. Not knowing if someone cares is a lonely place to live. Best regards.
