Thank you so much for the review. It is nice to know a young guy like you can find anything enjoyable about something that happened so long ago.

This is a lovely story in recalling your life with your husband, I admire you wanting to leave this kind of story for your children to remember their father. God bless.

This was another interesting chapter. I think you need to message me when you post as I still seem to miss some of them till it is too late. Good read and no spags. Keep 'em coming and let me know.

I did message on the one you missed. You got this one just as I posted it so I didn't need too. I appreciate you reading the storm story. You helped me win that one. I love having your read theses.

This must be very cathartic for you. It would be for me. Talking to a deceased husband or partner could relieve a lot of sorrow as well as answer questions for your children. This is a very good story about you as a woman struggling with the "me too" situation and being sexually harassed at work. I applaud you. Well done. -January L.

Beth,

What a massive endeavor! It's awfully kind of you to do this - not only will your children have something precious to treasure, but I have to think it's quite cathartic for you, as well. *smile* I hope so, anyway!

Notes:
1.) Our house had only two bedrooms, but but the paneled den
--> delete one 'but' please

2.) He stood way to(o) close, occasionally touching his shoulder against mine.

3.) walking in on me when I had both hands (in?) the chemicals and

4.) Not long after (I) started working in this department,

5.) one of the company owners came (around), and I was introduced to him.

6.) "What's wrong with you?", he asked. "I'm a old man. I can't do anything to you."
--> no comma after your question mark

7.) It seemed I was watching (a) lot of the people I'd gotten to know around the shop.

8.) Did this mean I might be unemployed again soon(?) Time would tell.

This was really interesting and I enjoyed! Thank you!

Thank you for the review and comment, I appreciate you taking the time to find things that needed work. I'd corrected a lot of them bot you found a few more. I've corrected them now. I'm doing this for me as much as for them. I enjoy remembering .

Oh, Beth, not again without a job, I hope? I can't imagine that, really. You did a lot of different jobs there already. A bit of holding the men off your body...why do men always seem to think that women like that? You were married, they were married, you both happened to work there together, but that does not mean...well, they seem to think it does mean.
You learned a lot, which was a good point. It made you very all- round.
Found a few imperfections:
1. In the title: I've being expected to learn new skills. I think it ought to be: I was expected. Or maybe I am expected
2. ...but but the paneled den. One but too many.
3. I was watching (a) lot of the people.

I remember answering this already but I much not have hit save. Thank you for reviewing. No, I won't lose this job. I know how to do too many different things. I will continued to have problems with Robert, in spite of him being a deacon in his church. Thanks for finding the things I need to fix.

The thing that struck me early was the children liked you black (Nannie) revealing prejudice, is a taught maxim, not natural, my kids grew up without a skerrick of prejudice, because we never made it an issue, my younger daughter accidentally saw some maltreatment of blacks on TV, she was crying and saying "why are they being so mean?" There was a lot of "lay offs" in the sixties, our company did it for three weeks, but we never lost our jobs, they were a bit sneaky then. Beautifully written Beth, also there were a lot of men who were a bit "handy" then. Not a good tome for women.well done Beth, blessings Roy
Typo : But (but) the panelled. 2: one of the owners came around(l) 3: I was watching (a) lot of the people. 4:: I (tired) to find out.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Later Don learns some prejudice from someone in the neighbor but he didn't get it from us. Mississippi was a hotbed of prejudice. Women had a hard time working in a place where men thought the they had the right to do whatever they wanted to. Thanks for catching the spags. Beth

It's hysterical that Don called her "Coow!" The 'L' sound is one of the last ones to master.
It's distressing that they couldn't be forthright in communicating layoffs to the employees. I'm so glad that you told that elderly employee that his action was inappropriate. From what I see in the news, men of the 1950's certainly thought it was their right to inappropriately touch women! Even thirty years ago, in my workplace, there was sexual harassment complaints for a man just to have a GQ magazine come to him at work. A lot has changed.
Comments:
"only two bedrooms, but but" (remove one but)
"came aroundl, " (extra l)
"I was watching lot of" (a lot of?)
"I tired to find out" (tried)

Thank you for the review and comments I'm so glad men can't get away with so much today. I was very naive and didn't know how to handle men in the city. I eventually learned. Thanks for seeing the errors.

I'm glad you stood up to them in your very gracious way. Sometimes, I think we go overboard in crying out "sexual harassment." I think we need guidelines and it is better now but it's also that we women are not always consistent because we second-guess ourselves. I'm learning a lot from your posts! ♥

Once again, I enjoyed reading your memoirs. You are doing a good job writing them. In today's world these men would have lawsuits against them.

Our house had only two bedrooms, but but the paneled den had a large closet and could be used as a bedroom. (Only one 'but' needed)

Not long after i started working in this department, one of the company owners came aroundl, and I was introduced to him. (capital 'I' and 'around')
