It has been a while since I have read your work--welcome back if you have been on hiatus. Thank you for describing what most of us are feeling during these challenging times. Down with "oppression" but I am glad it inspired you to create this winning piece. Take good care of yourself- Joan

Wow -- that's certainly a reality for many and you've written it so very well and with such an emotion of loss that it is... thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

I know that this is an entry for the contest. You chose well to chose freedom as the theme of your story, related to the Covid-19 virus.
I hope that in reality, you can see some sparks of light and hope though, not all is so completely black.
Let's be thankful that we have a telephone and Internet, so we can communicate with each other. You can write and post and share your thoughts with others. If you believe and have faith, you can pray. You don't have to be completely alone. It will all end, and, maybe different, maybe even better, we shall see our friends and family again. But let's be careful for now.
Take care, be safe.

This is an outstanding flash text, with an illustration that complements the words to perfection. The form "I miss... then the explanation" is particularly moving, and has allowed the author to pack several things missed into the short length allowed. The things missed are extremely serious, no trivia here, and concern what we have always taken for granted as human rights issues. Well done!

I like the way you made your story rhyme and it tells the way everyone is feeling right now. Covid 19 is keeping everyone inside and preventing us from doing what we are used to doing. This story is more truth than fiction. Well penned. -January L.
