Sally,
This poem is short but tells a full story of how lives storm can change your life. The poem seems to be written from the picture.
Congratulations on winning the contest.

This is a great metaphor and simile. The alliteration especially s's and some of the words effect the sensory experience of the wind. The imagery play a movie through the readers imagination. This is quite brilliant with your skill using the figures of speech. I have to give you A+

Thank you so much for the outstanding review and generous stars, dear Liz. I really liked this and hope it wins. It came upon me suddenly. I wrote it in five minutes, if that. I wish everything came as natural as this. Fresh from my life....

Love the word tousled. Seems like it always refers to hair. I also like Cat Stevens, which tells me that you must be somewhere between 68 and 72. I really like this piece.

And it's usually one of those winds that just comes out of nowhere, yeah?! ;) Such a wonderful offering of metaphorical truth, Lady Sal -- love the depth and silhouette that allows the reader to fill in their own 'wind' to the offering! :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

I feel this on so many levels. I've never thought about my hair being a representation of my life but you're not wrong. You did a great job and I'm sure many can relate.

Oh! Been there. Done that! I love this little four liner. Says a bit about me in the 70's. Highly relatable. Great photo choice! I do recall thinking that I thought I was stressed at THAT age and now I think about it and laugh. THIS is what stress is. AND, I know it could get worse. FAITH is the key. Great job with this one! Love it!

Those wild winds came from the north where change started to begin, Sally. It has changed our way of life, for when the wind blows leaves fly off the tree and land in our neighbors yard. :) This is a good offering for the Four line Poetry contest. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
