Thank you for the review and cool comments and you vote. Can you see this as maybe a Children's book with each stanza on a page with pictures? Several people suggested that.

It would be nice and yes I would agree.

This is a fun write and very entertaining, the meter started off okay but then lost its way half way through, nonetheless it is a good story and ideal for the contest, love Dolly x

This is good children's literature. There is an underdog for the child to identify with. The underdog feels like a bungler in everything they do. There is a freeing and strengthening of the underdog to encourage the child. Well written. I am voting for this.

Waoh! I am truly learning a lot here. The poem surly will keep children entertained with its rhythmic flow and some lesson too that being usefully engaged keeps everyone out of trouble, also there is consequence for every action. Great job here. Good luck in the contest.

This is adorable. You tell an entire story with full drawn characters and an innocence and bounce that kids will enjoy. Your rhymes work well, and your story is definitely fun to read.
I just want to point out two typos, so they won't mar your story:
- One day the farmer when to town ["when" should be "went"]
- Gip was a proud as he could be [left out the "s" in "as"]

This is an excellent narrative poem in every respect. It tells a great story and conveys an inspirational message about redirecting energy from destructive to productive habits. It is skillfully written and creative.

This is an amazing children's story set to rhyme. I enjoyed reading this very much, and I am sure that it would captivate any child if read outloud. You have a real gift for poetry, the story and the writing style are perfect. The picture of the goat is just right too!

A perfect poem for children! The rhymes flow well, but I would say change 'prickly pear' part to 'he landed on some prickly pears'. I hope this was helpful. Hope you win!

I liked that Fred finally realised that he had a role to play and that the farmer didn't have a reason to get rid of him. I thought this was done really well and the mischievous Fred made me smile, it seemed as though there was nothing he couldn't upset. A really enjoyable piece, good luck in the contest!
