Liz, while they are two separate dates over a twenty year period, I did change this.

I liked it and the way the story flowed nicely. Very well done with the imagery. I got a clear picture in my head. Overall I think you did a really swell job.!

Hello mystery writer. A little sarcasm goes a long way when it's being applied to reality. My favorite part is where people who have no job and pay no taxes get tax refunds at the end of the year. That's really a good one.

Very thought-provoking piece. The introduction wasn't clear, though, and I had to re-read the piece to connect it to the body of the story. Overall, though, a great premise and strong writing.

I think that this is a thought provoking piece that shows how people can get more than they bargained for. The grass seems greener much of the time only to realize what it costs to maintain that lawn. There are prices to pay for success. Whether that's a life long commitment to excellence a great work ethic or paying more taxes that are greater than what many others have even earned in their lives. Very profound story.

I really liked this one. It hit me squarely in the heart. I do feel for those underprivileged souls, but sometimes I don't think they realize that the middle class and one percenters work hard and then pay taxes. This is nicely done.

Roof35, I actually would not mind the taxes, if I felt that all the programs that are supposed to undergird the impoverished really had some meat in them, but I feel too much bureaucracy has put blinders on the waste and misuse of the finds.
