Whoa! What an absolutely beautiful story to begin my day with. I didn't see the death coming, thought the doctor was only going to handle her care pro bono, etc. (I never read the ending first!) There are, I believe, Angels among us. I have always thought so! Another piece that should be showered with stars, a six seeming so lame for this!
Perfection!
Hugs from a distance!
Wendy

Do you save your stars or have an extra in your angel account? I'm perfectly serious.... You have blessed me so much here and a meteor shower today! Thank you, Wend. I told you how much you've encouraged me to write more, and I'm not kidding!! Sending you my best today as always with many thanks,
    Sal xoxos...................always.......

A beautifully written story with a heartfelt message. Oh for more doctors like the Angel of Ireland. You've nudged us to be more aware of when and where we are needed. I loved reading this story, Sally. The Art and the music touched me.

What a tear-jerking story. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I picked up a couple of minor points?
The grass is a wild array of verdant fields - I really think this would be better as 'The fields are a wild array of verdant grass'

She was easy to sight, traveling in the rain down Wayfarer's Crossing in Duncannon Township. - lower case for 'township'?

Her red hair was unkept - spelling 'unkempt'

Bowing his head, he prayed for guidance so that he might fully understand before approaching her. - I might have rearranged this to 'Before approaching her, he bowed his head, praying for guidance so that he might fully understand.

Just as the girl opened the door, she gasped; racing to her mum's side - delete 'just'. Replace semi-colon with a comma.

Fetch some tea if you have it, Lass." - lower case for 'lass'

so that you two can get some meat on your bones," he said tickling Shannon. - comma after 'said'

Best wishes
Judy

Thank you very much for the excellent review and helpful critique. I DID mean to say "unkept" as in "messy." We typically don't use that spelling here in the United States. It must be one of our language differences. Sending you my best today as always,
    Sal xoxo

Your set up of this story is masterful and went straight to my heart. With its "Sheep's Bit and Bog-rosemary" and the description "His wings were seldom seen for he kept them tucked inside" ... to the whole paragraph beginning with "Her red hair was unkept... she marched, Teddy dangling by one arm. JUST A DELIGHT! A very moving Angel story - it moved my mother's heart.

You put tears in my eyes, we sometimes entertain angels without knowing, but God will open our eyes to see. As Deidre was granted eyes to see, as He's done for us. You have a kind and gentle heart, nobody can write these like you do, dear girl. Beautifully written,

I loved this insightful, gentle, caring read. I am sure it happens in real life. No commas with "ands" in the following... according to lore[,] and held strong opinions on everything Irish.

Hello Sally. This is a very gentle story about Dr. McGrath and his secret identity. It's well told as the narrative moves smoothly towards conclusion.
The story settles two issues: it tells the story of Deidre and the beginning of her eternity. And it tells the story of Shannon as she joins a new family.

Well done.

What a beautiful story. I think you wrote about this good doctor/angel before but it was a different case - maybe in the tavern. Interesting that even with this sad end, you still make it feel happy as Shannon will be well cared for. Great message to be doing good works for others.

Sally my friend , you did it again. Love the Irish. My father's mother from the old country true blue.
Highlander-lowlander, all is Bonny Ireland.
Good story. Sounds a little spiritual.
