Did the fortune teller tell the truth....I will find out in the next chapter I am sure. I'm not a believer in fortune tellers either, but they do have them at carnivals....not always accurate, are they?

This is a very beautiful and compelling read. My eyes and brain were eagerly pursuing the next line, very captivating. I found no grammatical errors or any typos.

Fortune tellers manage to get our attention though- that's their job, I guess- lots of life events rolling along as the children grow fast -political and otherwise -

I remember being mad when Neil Armstrong landing on the moon because it interrupted Captain Kangaroo, lol. My son Aaron was like your Don, always getting hurt. Most of the ER nurses knew him by name. Your chapter is well-written, very interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

I don't need a fortune teller to give me cause to worry. I get warning dreams. Of course they are never clear and great cause to worry but they are very close to the truth after the fact. This was interesting. I guess you will tell us later if any of her predictions were true. Good job. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I've had a few of those dreams to. That was the last fortune teller I went to. There are thing we probably would be better off without knowing in advance.

I am wondering how accurate the fortune teller was. LOL Love the story.

I think Christi was a little jealous, because they seemed to enjoy playing more active games with Carol and Don than playing Barbie dolls with her. (Should it have been - I think Carol was a little jealous, because they seemed to enjoy playing more active games with Christi and Don than playing Barbie dolls with her. Didn't Carol turn 9)

I'm sorry if that was confusing. It was Carol's birthday but Christi was jealous anyway because the girls that came we more her age and she wanted them to play with her instead of Carol and Don. Stay tuned and you'll find out how accurate the fortunate teller was. LOL

Ooooh! Beth, how exciting. A fortune-teller! Sometimes they are really good, and, although it doesn't look as if they are right, sometime later, it all comes true and you remember suddenly you had been foretold.
It happened to me when I was 18 and saw a fortune-teller at a local fair. I went, like you, just for fun and I believed nothing of what she told me, until...some two years later. Eery, those things.

Dear Beth, the most intriguing part of this post was the fortune teller.
Of all the things she predicted, how many came true?

I am also concerned for Donald and what the Medical practices of that era might yet do to him.
I can hardly wait for your next post.

I like your historical context - made me think of today - the riots, and political conflict over the 'welfare state.'

Poor Don! He had so many accidents! I wonder what they gave him in ER that made him so hyper! Often things that make adults sleepy can have the opposite effect on children.

Your experiences with these fortune tellers are spooky! I know you said you had another child so with your baby already in heaven, this woman was right again. Strange stuff.

"should have known better.. " (extra period)
" I didn't want to be a prud," (prude)
" I'm not believeing any of this garbage. " (believing)

Thank you so much for the review and the comments. The fortune teller reading was spooky, enough so that I never went near another one. I don't think I want to know what is coming. I don't know how they get as much right as they do. Thanks for catching my spags.
