This, too, is a great chapter!

Notice typos:
They put together makeshift sleds out of what ever ( whatever) they could find and had so much fun sliding down the dip from the front of our house to the driveway.

I didn't want to be a prig, and I seldom when (went) on outing (outings) with girlfriends.

I wondered why you were writing the way until I read your notes. Actually Spiro Agnew was Nixon's running mate in 1968 and served as vice president until he had to resign in 1973.
You have a grammar error: when should be WENT on outings.

Thank you for the review. I usually put more in for new readers but I hadn't any new ones for a while. You are correct about Agnew. I looked it up because I didn't remember the the site I found had it wrong. I'll change that. Thanks for stopping by

First paragraph summarizes what's happening in the outside world. Excellent opening. I can't imagine what the doctor gave Don. When prescribing a doctor needs to lessen the dose for children, I would think.
Loved the story of the fortune teller. You did well with the dialect. Good idea to compare notes. Seems she did give some generic fortelling.

Thank you for the review and comments. The fortune teller turned out to be more accurate than I would have liked.

(...involved Maggie and I s/b involved.....ME; off of (omit of) our house...typos in I didn't want to be a PRUDE and I seldom WENT on OUTINGS with...) This is a captivating story from start to finish--always havoc and injuries with the kids--skillful interweaving of narrative with current cultural details. Great bit about the fortune teller! Cheers. LIZ

Yes, before I was a Christian I used to read horoscopes, but they were invariably wrong. From what I know of the devil, he understands our propensities, but can't read the future, but I don't really know. Just love your biography Beth, I wonder if they turned out? Well done, blessings Roy
Typo : I didn't want to be a prud(e)

Thank you Roy, I appreciate the review. This was the last time I went near a fortune teller. I felt guilty. I think there more to it that I need to know about.
