This is a very beautiful and very true poem you have penned about your life and that very special someone you loved so dear. I am so sorry you lost her at a very early age. You are in my prayers my friend. Very beautiful words. blessings, Teri

What a tremendous, touching poem. As the reader, I felt your loss, and my losses in life also came to light. The reader can feel your broken heart, and hopes you get comfort from above, until you're together again. The rhyming has a perfect beat, and this is one of the reasons you're poem is exceptional. Good luck in the contest, and blessings in life.

Hello Jaybird,
I pray you are doing well these days. Your poems are always so touching and a joy to read. So, sorry your wife was taken from you are an early age. You have so much more to give in your writing. Don't stop! I love the title you chose, "Shifting Sand of Time." Also, your rhyme scheme is always nicely done. This is such a lovely line, "Please, wondrous powers from above, send down your guidance and your love." Well-penned. Thanks for sharing this sad but lovely poem of your wife. Take care. Happy writing:-)

That is so sad, Jay, to lose your wife before your castles had been built is hard. Our only consolation is, we will all meet again, when it's our time. So sorry for your loss. Sandra. xx

This is a sad poem, but full of meaning. Our life goes in cycles, each different from the last. eventually we find that there is only God and me.

People come, people go, but God is eternal and will never leave us. He wants to bring us back to Himself to live with Him forever and ever. If you believe this, you will find peace.

This modern sonnet, Shifting Sands of Time, mourns the loss of a spouse with this heart-wrenching rendering of the temporal nature of dreams, life, and happiness.

A very well-written poem about the past that we can never get back but we can keep those times precious in our memories and we can visit the past times in our mind any time we like.

I do understand what you are saying here. My beloved Husband was taken in 2009. Cancer. I have missed him every day since then. I like your poem, Bill. Have a wonderful day. Nancy:)
