Love your poem. It elicits the feelings of sun, warmth, happiness and joy that come with the departure of cold and dark winters. You described the nature beautifully, it made me smile and reminisce my young years when I lived in the country and experienced what you describe every year. Thank you for the beautifully written poem.

Comment from June Sargent
In a world ravaged by a virus, it's so inspiring to envision this valley with fields of poppies. God's presence is certainly visible when spring arrives. Thank you for reminding us that there is still beauty out there.

Thank you, June, for sharing my poem. We don?t have poppies growing in fields near me, but the gardens are at their peak. Rod

This is a well crafted poem. I appreciate the skill that it takes to write a sonnet like this one. I also really like the picture you chose to go with it.

Thank you very much, Melanie, for your very kind praise of my sonnet. Yes, this type is more challenging than most and Wordsworth made all of his look so easy. Rod

A joyful serene Emotional feeling. This is nicely constructed and I give you credit for the added degree of difficulty. You painted a very beautiful picture with words alone.
Well done.

The author's words are uplifting, descriptive and creative. The words
of this poem share the beauty of nature. I also find where beauty is
God is present. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is
perfect and compliments this poem.

I think Wordsworth would be impressed. Your ekphrastic sonnet is skillfully and creatively composed; you have made excellent use of specific details to describe all elements of the awe-inspiring artwork.

I truly enjoyed your poem, Joy of early Spring my favorites were the last three lines, God's presence--felt wherever beauty's seen--
astounds all visitors who wander here, uplifts their spirits; smiles soon reappear. What an uplifting emotion that inspires! Well done.

Spring colors and emotions in the same line, doubles with the faith in our God. :"Not far away a barn sits wearily
with open doors, corral and rooftop green
and there a valley lying silently,
all rolling farmland restful and serene.
God's presence--felt wherever beauty's seen--
astounds all visitors who wander here,
uplifts their spirits; smiles soon reappear." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your contest.
