Well done poem! I liked that the repeat phrase was "Mama's." Yes, keeping going even when you don't win is daunting. We have to be sure we're competing for the right reasons, eh? Good luck in the contest.

Your kyrielle is excellent in every respect. It conveys a powerful message
about youthful hurts and disappointments and their elders' love and wisdom. I like the repeat line.

Not only is it a beautiful example of the Kyrielle format but it also provokes some interesting reflection for the reader 'Some thorns have roses, Momma said '
