This story was very effective at creating a horrific atmosphere. The suspense carried though to the end. The rhymes also worked well within the piece. Well done.

I am not a horror fan but this is a good tale. You held my interest and shocked me with the little cannibals. Excellent free verse form and your vivid use of words create a clear scene of the winter and the teacher's struggle in the blizzard. Your poem also reads like a mini movie, Dean would be proud.

This is certainly not what I expected! My o my, how horrible! You really captured the essence of the situation in a poem. No wonder they needed a replacement teacher every so often, eh? There were a few tense issues, but I thought perhaps you were writing colloquially, in the words of the character. I do that sometimes, purposely. Good job. Good luck with the contest.

Horror! Horror! Horror! That is mainly what I have to say. Although I admit you have a big imagination and you write well. The illustration, reminds me of the farmhouse my grandparents owned. Thankfully they really did burn coal. Nicely done.

Well that shook me up, didn't expect that at all. I found the rhythms not very good. The storyline was that of a horror movie deluxe, and I was there. Envisioning the table scene, yikes. Surely the teacher was able to get loose before she became part of the menu. I found it intriguing and repulsive, and that's good, you want reactions.

This poem definitely gave me the chills right in the middle of July. So spooky! I love it! Im feeling like Halloween is right around the corner and this sounds like a scary story you would share around the campfire. Nice shout out to Dean the King of horror. May he rest in peace.
