All those accidents with the kids. I think when they scream bloody murder in so much pain, it takes the wind out of us, and it burns in our memory. I recall every detail when my children broke a bone. True love is something you do, not just something you say. That's what I think of when I read your heart-filled memoire. Stan

I had a training in Baton Rouge a few years ago. It was about two weeks before Mardi Gras. After the training one night we went to New Orleans. It was already decorated and was beautiful. I have NO desire to be there during Mardi Gras. It's not my thing. Thank you for sharing.

It wasn't my husband's thing either. The kids and I enjoyed the novelty of it. In later years, we didn't go to downtown New Orleans. Out in Metairie the parades are not as wild and there is usually celebrity on them. i saw Barbara Eden and others in Metairie. I saw the Fonz in New Orleans. He was still on Happy Days then. Thanks for the review.

Very nice addition to your story. You managed to put me there and I managed a laugh or two along the way. I have never been to New Orleans, so I never saw a Mardi Gras.
Interesting that you now live in Tennessee, as my former boss lives in Memphis, and his wife's name is Shelby.
I only saw one small error, but couldn't find it again to let you know.
Best regards,
Dick

Thank you Dick, I appreciated you reading this and also your comments. I lot of women these days are named Shelby. Some of them have Shelby family in their background. I still plan to read all of your work, but I went out of town and got behind. I'll be busy the next two weeks but I'll keep us as well as I can.

I love these memories of yours, Beth. You make it come alive as if I was there with you. II only found one thing where you changed the tense.
I begin to notice a few little things missing. = I began to notice a few little things missing.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Ulla:))))

You had a very interesting life in New Orleans, Beth. You never venture away from talking to your husband in your story. That has to be hard to do. Remembering all this is another thing. Well done, Beth. I am enjoying your story. Nancy:)

Your story is well-written, very interesting. The part about your Christi made me laugh. Thank goodness she came up with her own conclusion, save you from an embarrassing conversation at least postpone it. Your great description of the Mardi Gras made me feel like I was there. Nice job, I look forward to reading more.

I like this biographical chapter, about miscellaneous things your first year in New Orleans, of the book; I have enjoyed the living experience, appropriate taletelling, good beginning if not catchy, ending with memories; well said, well done, thank you for sharing this. ALCREATOR

A wonderful recollection Beth - good to read you again, my lady. Been so busy readying our house for sale that I haven't been around much. As someone from the New Orleans area, I can attest to the fact that Mardi Gras is certainly a crazy time.... Laissez-les bons temps rouler!! :) Thanks for sharing! ;) Yvette

Thank you, Yvette, I've missed seeing you around. I appreciate you reviewing this. I didn't realize you were from the New Orleans area. I end living there 17 years and I really learned to like it. Thanks for catching my errors.

I am still laughing at your situation with Christi and the laundry basket. They will do it.
Yes, some many you mentioned are refreshing to my old memory bank as well.
Another good one Beth.
Still laughing at the rain coat.
