I love the billiard table, LisaMay, but the abuse and use of a young man's sweater is no excuse. How you got away with it is simply... fantastic! :) Did the mother say anything after she knew that the boy was a broom and a feather duster? Only you could come up with something as crazy as this true story. :) Your delivery was beautiful! You made me laugh. This is a very good entry for A How-to Contest--Teach Us contest

Oh yes, I did indeed get reprimanded by the boy's mother, but when she saw how happy the kid was to play such a naughty 'game' (and it kept him out of her hair for a while) then she forgave me - but I'm not allowed to do it again.

What a fun contest entry, Mystery Writer. I enjoyed reading it. Your word choices are fitting and the pace is great. I could see this as I read. I thought the boy was having as much fun as the one dusting the floor. The image is beautiful. Your fun step-by-step instructions would be easy to follow.
Thanks for sharnig and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Thanks for your terrific review. Yes, we were both having fun... his mother was not quite so entertained.

This is just delightful! I could picture it exactly. Your tongue-in-cheek humor was just right for this how-to instruction. You gave us a lot of detail, sufficient cautions, and I do believe I could do it myself, if called upon. Good job, creative efforts. Good luck on the contest.

This is hilarious! I think you'll win! When I saw the picture and your mention of the house museum, I realized you did have firsthand knowledge of the place and probably of this technique! Loved how you incorporated all the rules of the contest with humorous puns, too!

This is an entertaining story about how you kept a young boy amused while he helped with the dusting. It goes to show that creativity can always be an assist, even with dull chores.

Well I was going to enter this contest, but I think you have the #1 spot all sewed up. How creative you are, and what a good idea. I could have used that with my three kids for all those years. But I'm sure my two boys would have balked at the premise. Now my girl,???? maybe and she wore a lot of sweatsuits that would have worked beautifully. Thanks for the insight, and I do have lots of grandchildren:)

I'm pleased you enjoyed my story. Yep, sweatsuits would work well! Put those grandkids to work... but maybe you don't have a billiard table.

No not now, but we did have a billiard (pool) table we did have one years ago, BC that's Before Children. After the kids for many years there was no time to play pool. :)

What a hoot, Lisa!
Works for me! In fact, I should have put my own son to work in the way you describe for many cleaning projects! Wishing I could have seen this housekeeping event take place with my own eyes! Loved it!

Thank you for sharing!

Super review - thank you! Yes, that was a waste of a boy not to get him to help you.
