lol Surprisingly no one mentioned the no words. I was amazed that it actually came in second place, to be honest. Sorry about the late reply. My internet has been down for a couple days. I really appreciate the great review and stars. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this silly piece. Thank you, Yvette, and I hope you have a great day.

This is an exceedingly clever and enjoyable piece. I especially liked the silence as the questions trickled through my mind, waiting for answers. The only thing I didn't like was being told It's written in mime. I hated it, as we should be able to work that out for ourselves.

Thank you for the fantastic review and giant sixer, Katherine. I put that it was written in mime in the author notes so I could use the "thanks for reading" joke afterwards. Sorry about the late reply. My internet has been down for a few days. I dearly appreciate the gracious rating. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. I hope you have yourself a wonderful day and thank you again.

Of course. I have little or no sense of humour. But I really do appreciate the way others can write nonsense/silliness.

Very clever! I love mimes. I remember Red Skelton and his work as a mime character on his television show. In the late 60's I used to see Mimes in the park or boardwalk. And, of course when there were silent movies, I watched them, (after the fact), and enjoyed their performances. A lot can be said without using words, as it shows in your one word poem. The signal for asking one to be quiet, such as, "shhhh!" is used effectively here. Thank you for introducing another way of communicating.
Take care,
Jesse

Hey, Jesse, hi. Thank you for the great review, friend. Yeah, I came across a lot of his pictures when I was searching for an image but I couldn't find one where he was going "shhhh." I appreciate you stopping by and the generous stars. Hope you have a great weekend.

    Hi Ron.
I'm glad you liked my review. It was very creative to use a silent 'one word' for this poem. I'm sure we all got it right away.
Have a good weekend, yourself, my friend.

For sure you got this very well, very minimalistic as well. The picture fits perfectly with the essence of the contest. Y the editors of the contest I say "you show them."

Thank you for the fantastic review, Amada. We'll see if the committee is going to let this fly or not seeing as how I don't have any words in it. I really appreciate the gracious stars and I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Thank you again.

Dear Dragon how very cleaver is this entry of yours for this contest. It is sure to be a winner, if for no other reason than the illustration you have attached to this post.
I have only one question. Where is the One Word?

I thought they never counted the title in a word count, At least that is the rule I thought I read.
reply by the author on 06-Aug-2020
This isn't actually a word count contest. It's a 'One Word" contest. When it's a word count contest, yes, we don't count the title into the total word count. In this contest, we're suppose to write a piece about the one word we chose. The title is pretty well the one word that we chose. I chose Mime for my one word. That's why I titled it Mime. There is no word count restrictions just as long as you write about the 'one' word you picked. Again, mine was Mime. I hope that cleared it up a little. My word was Mime so that's the word I picked for this contest. Word count, other than the one word you picked, has nothing to do with this contest. Thanks again, Suzanna.

Hi, dear friend!

The title is witty, the rhymes are adequate, I wish you haven't chosen all mono-rhymes, and sometime a dash would convey the breaks better than a simple comma. There's a meter glitch in the 6th line. The tone mimics the 'sound of silence'. Also, there's a distinct sense of emptiness trying to show up as something ;).

O you silly! I can't believe you did that - but it sure made me smile. Of course, the image is an integral part if this creative approach and it may not fully function without it. Let's see if it gets through the committee! How is their sense of humor?

It's certainly provide an element of surprise and top notch creativity.

(Why do I keep writing satire reviews for you? What is it about you?)
Good luck with this!
It will be either loved or hated...we'll see :).

HAHAHA. Thank you for all the pointers, Light. I'll try to get away from those mono-rhymes and fix the meter. I will admit, I was surprised when my spell check didn't find any mistakes. Lol.

Yeah, there's no way the committee's going to let this pass. I just love throwing away money. Ha. I'll have to be thinking of something to replace it before the deadline. I'm glad you liked this silly attempt at humor. Oh, I'm sure there will some folks who don't 'get' it but what can you do? Thank you for the hilarious review and stars, LI. Have yourself a great day.
