Good job with this poem - rhythm and rhyme work well, details expressed in a fair-minded manner.
I feel the role of being press secretary to Trump is doomed to ridicule. That young woman (and all her predecessors) may be trying to do their job, but it still requires covering for his lies, which is morally suspect. Your words that she must "sound sincere" made me groan. I would rather that someone was sincere in actuality. Also, "She must defend the President" because he is so often wrong, misleading, or ignorant. Yes, it's a tough job, but she apparently wanted it. Trump is a very weighty albatross - at least he is still a live one.

Hi, Lisa. I appreciate your reading and reviewing my poem. And I do agree with your comments. Anyone who works for Trump knows what she/he is doing. Most are political hacks who seek favors. Still, I think she is doing a commendable job. We?ll see how long she lasts. Rod

I feel the poem teaches the reader to empathize, but not be persuaded. I appreciate the blend of facts and rhyme, I thought this was done tastefully. Good luck in your contest)

Excellent poetry. Excellent PS, wouldn't want the job. I loved Sarah, who was very sharp and fair. I didn't like the luncheon when then made fun of her, for her looks, they reached a very low bar. Kayleigh has a very large brain in that little beautiful head. I feel she does a very good job, but I suppose they will make fun of her also. I was going to enter but the competition is way to steep, so never mind:)

Thank you so much, Becky, for your high praise of my poem and those six bright stars. I, too, fear Kayleigh will be demeaned by the Press. Rod

She is pretty on the ball and her reaction time is great. I feel like she belongs in the family.

Hello, anonymous,

As far as the poem structure you did a good job but I disagree with you. She chose the job of lying for the president. It's despicable. I don't feel sorry for her.

It?s interesting that you say this, Gypsy. I told my daughter about my poem, and she said almost the exact same words as you. Thank you for sharing my poem.

I mean, on the one hand I can understand where you're coming from with this piece, but on a deeper level, is it not morally repugnant to try and 'spin' literal evil into false truths? Anyways, good job technically on the piece, thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Many thanks for sharing and reviewing my poem. It?s hard to chastise the current PS for doing her job. She?s not doing the ?spinning.? Her boss is doing that and she is left to ?translate.?

Hello RodG
It is not an easy job to be the White House press Secretary
Has an excellent rhyming and I like how you pointed out that She is the fall guy in that room.
It's SHE who takes the heat.

-Good image and
presentation.
-I enjoyed "West Wing," too.
-You wrote a good poem, as well.
-Effective meter, imagery, and
rhyme create a smooth flow of ideas.
-I like these lines:
"She must support what e'er he says.
He is her albatross."
-A good concluding verse, too.
-A good entry; good luck.
