June,
What a beautiful heart-wrenching poem. At first its that tension of first glance; will they meet? They fall in love, marry, and then he is stricken with Alzheimer's. How very sad. Then, you lift up the reader with such a sweet surprise. June, you're such an exceptional writer. Have a good week.
Good luck in the contest.
Cindy

This story poem in Shadorma form, The Heart Remembers, takes the reader to a life lived well, yet brought to a sad ending by the mind-robbing disease. The ending is both somber and serene.

What a simple but grand story. It is so sad when loved ones have 'lost' memories.

I believe you have met the requirements of this contest: Write a poem of any type and any length that tells a story.

Best of luck with the Story Poem writing contest.

This was a really rhytmic poem with a good story line that many really do experience. First time I saw this poem form and I really appreciate your notes on it. Got to give it a try.

That was so sad, and so common these days. I wonder why? More families have a relative that has Alzheimer's, or Dementia, than ever before. It's the cruelest, most frightening of all todays illness's. Well done, this is a sad, but true poem. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Great job with your story told so beautifully with this Shadorma form. I love that the love story showed that his "old sweet smile" showed his spirit was still there despite the disease. Best wishes in the contest!

I love how you featured the wink. You definitely pulled the reader in. They almost felt like they were being winked at and they caught the wink. This ends up very sad. Your will draw the reader in to reflect upon a similar experience. I am giving this A+ and voting for it.
