A light hearted poem about a not so light hearted event! Glad you got to the ER in time. I hope you now carry an epi-pen with you now for emergencies! I enjoyed your poem
stay safe!

I feel for you! Thank goodness for ER. A poem that struck a chord, for I was stung twice yesterday, mowing grass too close to our hives. Fortunately, I'm not allergic.

I like the style of this poem--can't think of the name of it. You have described yourself as being very still to avoid a possible lethal sting. One fire ant bite made my hand swell up like a balloon; I understand!

Nice beginning, lousy ending (the bee not the poem!) I liked your choice, different than filming scenery. I guess the pain was intense. I think they must be short sighted, stung you through the blanket? Lucky girl you didn't go into shock. I guess you carry a pen injector for allergies?

Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate your time. The picture was of the bee on my arm as that was the sleeve of my jacket. They were really aggressive that year. I do carry an epi-pen now.

Uh oh, I am sorry to hear you got stung! Your poem expresses your sediments very well. I don't mind them to watch, but I do get nervous when they start following me around.. especially wasps!

Hi Annie, a very nice piece of advice for this honeybee never knowing the value of it and like you say it could kill you and plenty have found this fate. With the lack of bees around the world at the moment I wonder who has come off worse. Cheers Colin

Hello Annie, this is a lovely, simple little poem so well written. It really is lovely. Good photo picture - again, simply chosen. A beautiful offering for the 'take a picture' contest. Good Luck - warm regards Dorothy x

That's awful! I'm giving your poem six stars for undergoing the ER and the stinging pain so that you could get a photo and a poem out of it.
The poem is great, and so is the photo! Take care.

Thanks again for the six stars. I had time to reply to the message but had to run off to work so had no time to reply to this one. Take care and have a blessed weekend.

"Please Don't Sting?" is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill, this talented poet has told it as it is. I look forward to seeing your next post.

AnnieDawn,
thank you for your very kind review. Yes, bees can certainly be aggressive.
God bless, take care and stay safe!

Yes, some people are severely allergic to bee stings, quite scary. Your rhyming verse form takes the reader out into nature. Even thought the bee can sting, they still provide a much needed service by gathering pollen.
