I'm loving the sentiment here in your fine sonnet. I have a couple of suggestions for you here:
Suggestion for this line:
"but whence I think of you the words (doth) flow."
this line is out of meter:
"concepts for images with which I'll play."
maybe:
"a concept of an image I will play"

Hey author, this is a lovely Petrarchan sonnet. And most definitely in the spirit of EBB with perhaps a little Milton, but only for good measure and when diction apropos might need a little tweak.
A most creative entry into this contest and I wish you great luck with the voters.

Interesting poem I have never read a poem where the writer is mimicking another. You actually have confused me, who is who? I guess you are that good! Good entry. Happy writing!

Hello, Vanna. I truly appreciate your taking the time to share my sonnet. I am glad you found it interesting. The writer is Elizabeth and she says she writes her poetry to her husband Robert. Her love for him inspires her. Rod

Once a soldier in a foreign land not knowing if we would ever see home again, poems of this nature always gave strength to the men who missed their loved ones.
Thanks you for sharing.
I am a Lord Byron person.

This is a great contest entry, Mystery Writer. I enjoyed reading it. Your words flow effortlessly to answer, as you say, the question of how EBB writes her poetry. The image is perfect. You styled your response in her style well.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you for this enlightening poem which shares how you create them.
I think most of us draw inspiration from the elements, situations and people around us.
Good luck in the contest.

Your smooth sonnet is indeed an authentic-sounding mimickry of EBB's poetic 'voice'. Your lines convey a tender and lasting connection of emotion - true love penned in words.

Hi, LIsa. Many thanks for sharing my sonnet. I am very pleased you think it is authentic mimickry of EBB's poetic voice. I have to confess it is not easy for me to assume a woman's voice when I write. Rod

Your sonnet is superb in very respect. The treatment of the topic is novel and appealing. The poem is skillfully-written and vividly descriptive of how the object of her affection causes the lines to flow.

Oh, this is an Italian sonnet! I love the slightly archaic, majestic tone of this poem, that states that it's thinking of the beloved that makes the words flow...
These are fine details to the process though:
"My sonnets take their shape as feelings stray,
transcend to thoughts then diction apropos.
And any sight of you will surely sow
concepts for images with which I'll play."
In this stanza you explore the relationship between feelings, thought and concepts...all inspired by the same person...or Muse.
This is quite a love poem!
Thank you for sharing!
