That was an amazing story and I hope you can write more stories and I also could not stop reading it and I hope you get the recognition you need for this story.

Sincerely, Ayan

Hi Beth, what a lovely new chapter, but als a chapter that shows a few problems in your life. I don't know about the US but in Denmark where I grew up it is illegal to sack a woman because she's pregnant even back in the seventies. Now it's illegal in all of Europe, And has been for over thirty years. I so enjoy your story. Ulla:)))

Thank you so much for the review and comments. In the South, companies could pretty much do as they pleased. They didn't exactly sack me. They said they'd love to have me come back to work, if there was an opening when I got ready to return, but they had to hire someone to do my job while I was gone. There was medical reasons as well. They didn't want to be responsible for me losing the baby. The type of work I did meant I was always on my feet wouldn't and worked with chemicals.

"Well, it better be a boy then, because we've already got too many girls in our house." I understand those feelings well. When I was younger, I said the same thing to my mom- only I said, "It had better be a boy" Then she said,"well, what if it's not?" To which I replied, "Then I want a dog!"

I am enjoying your reminiscing!

Poor Don felt outnumbered, lol. I'm so glad your accident wasn't life-threatening. I loved the bit of history you threw in here nice touch. New Orleans sounds a lot like New York with the street vendors and such. You could probably find anything you want if you keep walking. Your story is well-written, interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you for the nice review and comments. New Orleans is a very interesting place. I is bit dangerous as well as all cities are. It is the greatest place to raise kids.

Thanks for the tour of the city, Beth. It sounds like a very interesting Historical place.I hope the statue survives the riots and Covid19. I hope the riots never erupt there, but they are spreading. Maybe it will all calm down after the election. Good job. Nancy:) xxx

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I understand from friends that the Robert E. Lee statue in Lee Circle and the Andrew Jackson have had been victims of people trying to teat them down. New Orleans is having riots like other places.

Sorry to hear that. They can't change history by doing that why bother???

This was a very enjoyable read. I learned about the French Quarter and felt like I was strolling along with you all. I wonder if there is a way to get a dog from chasing bicycles...

Thanks for the review and comments. The only way we could find was to send the dog where there are no bicycles.

I was alarmed by the accident in Missisippi where your car was ridden into by this man, who the resulted not to be insured! Thank God none of you was hurt, but logically, your husband was so angry!
The news of your pregnancy to your children, was taken rather well then. Don wanting to have a baby brother. I wonder if they had guessed before that your belly was swelling. Children are a lot more aware of those things than we think.

Thank you for the review and comments. I don't think the children knew because they all acted shocked. They may have guessed at my work.

    Welcome Beth,
    As usual, I forgot something:
-riding a house??? (horse) with its front legs in the air.

This is a great story, and a wonderful way to help your children know the whole person. I lost my mom when I was 14 and because it was back in the 70s no one spoke much to children about cancer. I have spent many hours wanting to remember her. This is an awesome thing you are doing for your kids.
The writing is good, and the story line fairly easy to follow. The transition between the dog and New Orleans is a little foggy, but I think it is well written.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. If ;you haven't read any of the chapters before I would imagine you wouldn't understand about the dog. When he bought the house from a lady from Norway, she couldn't take the dog so she moved off and left him. I don't know how she kept him from chasing bikes before unless she kept him inside.

This is a wonderful way to keep cherished memories alive and keep them for your children. I assume that this is a chapter and that this is going to be a book. It would make a good one if that is the goal. Thank you for sharing. It was a good read and constructed well.

This unreal structure of work about living and act of responsibilities between your deceased husband and you to express the state of your living to prove worth of your living before your children; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR
