You had me at the cat picture, then described a hunting seen beautifully. Great imagery. The choice of freshman forager was interesting, I didn't quite understand if that was referring to the cat or prey at first...nonetheless, great work! And congrats on winning this one!

What an amusing story, Bill! I was all-in when I read "slow-responding pine cone." Funny imagery! This little story is bigger than we think. It is a metaphor for human responses. Sometimes we beat a person's point-of-view to a pulp, only to realize we were fighting the pillow in a pillow fight.

The descriptive words- rapt attention, calico kitten, preparing to pounce on its prey' and 'freshman forager' (I could name a few more!) They were great!!

I could just picture this as it happened. The kitten silently creeping up to the unknowing victim, a pine cone! Lol I'm sure it put up a bit of a fight. This was a lovely story told in just 75 words. Well done and good luck! :)) Sandra xx
