I hope the reader read this poem aloud as all poetry needs to be read. You continuous alliteration make the poem. The onomatopoeia is delightful. As the reader gets in the zone, they will even be able to hear the crapping. This is very funny. That's nature.

    Ciao Liz O'Neill!

    Initially, I wanting to praise birds but then due to syllable count I ended up with the word pigeon and the poem took a whole new unexpected path..( biggrin)


    ... in Milano pigeon droppings have become a hazard but in all honesty I would hate to see the city without these busy critters.

    Glad I was able to make you laugh..

    I wasn't so sure about the last line but it actually work seeing the votes it received.

    I think the pic was the cherry on the cake .. Got the reader in the right mood ..

    It was a stroke of luck finding it .. Done the poem I was search for a pic with lots of pigeons and instead this popped up ( smile)

    The back story makes it even more interesting. When they took an old hotel down in our city, it ws the home of 100's of pigeons. They had to poison them. There were still plenty left. My brother makes me laugh. He says, Seagulls are glorified pigeons. I guess he has a point. But no pigeon has been honored with as lovely a tribute as Johnathan Livingston Seagull

I love the picture you have here. I laughed b efore I even started reading. You described this create to a perfect T. It would just like them to read a book on how to get better at it. You are my pick in this contest.

    I was lucky with that .. It s the cherry on the cake ..

    I started off with birds but then swapped to pigeons to make the syllable count right.

    .... the pigeons made me think of crap obviously ..

    When I went to search for a pic , I couldn't believe my eyes .. The pic definitely puts the reader in the right mood ..

    I'm so glad you enjoyed the read..

    Strange how some poems find their way onto the paper

Hey isn't it, in some cultures, considered to be good luck to be crapped on by a bird. Good luck in the contest, this one is sure to be a winner, lol.

    Yes , in my country , it is ..( biggrin)

    Even bird crap on a car is considered " good luck"

    Glad you liked my wee poem .. when I started off I had no clue I would finish up writing one about pigeon crap..( biggrin)

    I haven't voted yet so I don't know how the contest is going ..

    hopefully , people are getting a laugh at least.. I was lucky with the photo ..

    I was looking for a pic with a lot of pigeon when I saw the one I posted ..

    It just made me laugh and I thought it would be a great addition to my wee poem

CIAO, MY FRIEND: Bravo! This is hot. Express yourself. I commend this posting in that it is a better alternative than shooting people. Nevertheless, in all probability the shooter will shoot the pooper. So it might be relative to the situation at hand, for the pooper to cover their butt with a bullet proof shield after they're done pooping on people. LOL. Stay safe. God bless you, Ciao. Congratulations on this amusing piece! Gave me a laugh! Love the picture! In Brisbane city, where I live, ibis (bin chickens) are considered the problem birds. We have pigeons, but not in large numbers. Good luck with the competition!

    I was hoping readers would see the funny side .. In our cities , pigeons are considered a problem but I personally don't see why ..

    They are a colourful addition to city life .. also being " blessed " is supposed to bring luck ( at least in some cultures)

    In many metropolis , pigeons are considered pests due to the amount of crap they leave everywhere .. On statues , cars , people ..

    I don't thing they are vermin but then I live in the countryside .. ( biggrin)
