Amazing, personal, sad, life-changing...are words I would use to describe this poem about a condition that doesn't fight fair. You are at its mercy, basically. Thank you for this poem. I would be shocked if it weren't a true story, because I know a bit about mental illness with relatives, and the description of the harrowing heartache is real.
Memorable in every way, I give you a well-deserved 6 stars.

Thank you for reading and for your kind words. It's true. My son developed schizophrenia when he was 20 years old...it's been a battle ever since to keep him on an even keel and maintain some normalcy in his life. I appreciate the 6 stars..thanks again.

You certainly describe this type of mental illness thoroughly. Such a strain on the person and the person's loved ones. Your illustration pairs perfectly. Nicely done.

This is excellent. I love how personal this is. How you share your own thoughts about your son for example. The word choices are excellent. The poem feels real which is important to me in making it touch us. Great job.

I'm sorry you're going through this, it had to be a hard poem to write. Your poem, rhymed, makes sense, and draws awareness to something most of us have no clue what you're going through. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and stay healthy.
