This certainly meets the requirements of the contest. It is disgusting to see a young person ruin their life with a needle. Your illustration is perfect and sets the stage for your words.

roof thank you! America is terrible at winning wars, ergo, the drug epidemic continues to spiral out of control and now we have dumb state legislators capitalizing on a new tax basis with legalizing marijuana, how stupid is that?

Very good entry for this contest.

I love your picture would goes so well with your words. It is the vision of the loss your words describe.

'You know not my battles waged,' So true. We are usually far too quick to be judgemental.

The last line - 'Help was sought! Not found' crushed me.

Best of luck in the Lowku Poem writing prompt contest.

So true, SO many addicted people simply can not afford drug interdiction programs and so there struggle goes on and on.

I was fortunate to grow up when the closest thing to recreational drugs was plain and simply booze, and I was hooked on that, but I understand addiction, dependency, and excellent Lowku writing prompt and comp. Good luck, blessings Roy

Join the club even they who proclaimed sight are lost, finding deep not revealed factors maybe best not stated held secret. One possible suggestion: You know not my waged battles, seemingly stronger definition. All stated in my given viewpoint of this particular read.

I found these words sad, heartfelt, descriptive and creative. I thought
about the homeless in New York City. I feel kindness is so important
for those who are lost. The poem flows and connects. The artwork
is great and compliments this poem.

harmony, thank you for your time taken to read and comment, we have far too many lost souls on our city streets. Seemingly no immediate solutions.

A sad commentary on our world that so many are lost and help seems almost impossible. Where I used to live, there was an excellent network of opportunities for the homeless and those lost to society. The covid virus and hampered the help for these people. Hopefully, that will end soon.

Well done and thank you for bring this situation to light.

A very well-written lowku poem about the countless people in cities who are homeless and addicted to one or other substance and without income they seem completely lost.

Wow, I was really moved by this. With so few words, it is really surprising that there can be so much emotion felt by someone reading this. I am a person who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, and I know how hard it is. I know how unseen one can feel while addicted. I am really impressed. I would like to try one of these short poem contests someday, but I don't think I have the skill yet. It takes more skill to say so much with few words.
