In this chapter, the most impact on me was made by Don's not telling he was sort of bullied by a boy. When this kid got ill, and Don was praying for his death (a most normal and childish wish when you are constantly pestered by this lad), he must have felt horrible when his wish came true. Poor little guy, he felt responsible, but of course, he was not.
Good chapter, Beth!

Thank you for the reveiw and comments. I expected the most mentioned by people reviewing this chapter would be sympathy for Don, not knowing how to handle his guilty feeling. As you say this is not something abnormal to feel toward someone who is bullying your. I can remember having the same kind of feeling as a child.

Poor kid, thinking he caused someone's death. What a horrible thing to live with at any age. Glad he wasn't severely hurt in tetherball. I believe they tried to ban it at one time, claiming it was too dangerous. A lot of toys we used to play with were banned for that reason. Your chapter is well-written, interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you for the review and excellent comments. I wish Don had not waited so long to let us know what he was going though in believing he was responsible tor that child's death. It too him a while to stop hating himself.

Oh my goodness. I can only imagine the guilt Don must have felt after the boy who tormented him died. Your post is always very interesting, Beth. You had a wonderful family and it seems you enjoyed the adventure you shared with them each day. Well, done. Nancy:)

Liz, you are an amazing fan to see all those errors and still give me six stars. I am so grateful. I must be going blind not to see those mistakes when I read over it. I hope this site lets me nominate you but If I have already it won't.

This is wonderful both end the writing and in the reason for the writing. I am glad you included the author's note because it helped me to understand what you were doing. All of it was interesting because it was personal experience and I find myself curious about other people's ordinary experiences. Keep up the good work. I think this is very special and your kids will thank you for it.
