Virtual six, dear Yvette. You captured grieving so well with this poem and I like how you let Yvonne know that it's okay to cry and "fall apart." It's times like these no one call walk alongside us but God alone.

Ok, what's happening here? What's up with this book? It makes me sad and thinking about the ones that move into a different world _ and your pin captures that longing and belonging. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Yvonne (damommy is her FS moniker) lost her son some time this past week - I do not know details: perhaps lyenochka (Helen) does...? Thanx for the review, Iza - you take care of you up there! ;) Yvette

This is very comforting. I feel so trapped sometimes by the covid, but also by the discord that is happening in our country. You beautiful words in this poem was soothing. Thanks for sharing.

Gosh, you are so right, Boogie -- so much unrest and uncertainty... Thanx so much for your review here, my lady -- feels kinda weird responding as it really was such an emotional write (you know, one of those 'cleansing' ones, if that makes any sense...). Take care of you out there , and make the most of your weekend hours (whatever that may be)! ;) :) ;) ;) Yvette

This is an excellent poem in all respects. It is a lovely, descriptive, moving
expression of compassionate sympathy. It is also powerfully worded, conveying an uplifting message about God's love and the memories that will come.

I think this is a beautiful and caring poem for a friend. It is beautiful and the final line:"it's damned okay to fall apart." Is truly perfect. Nicely done.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Yvette, I am in 'awe' of your deeply attuned, loving approach - that doesn't seek to falsely console, but gives permission to fall apart! This feel the most psychologically minded poem out of the series - and I am so glad you said it! You are such an amazing human being. I wish you never had to write this and I also wish more people who are grieving would get a chance to read it.

You are opening with soothing nature imagery - while showing the grief.
Then, you offer a glimpse into the true loneliness, as the well meaning people pull away in fear of causing further heartache. Meanwhile the depth of pain goes all the way to the core:
"a stark familiarity
that resonates through every cell..."
(I love these lines)

I also appreciate as you bring in god as an understanding presence (not someone wee MUST reach for). I so adore your approach.
"Nobody knows except the One -
Who breathes the breeze and lights the sun -
the true depth of your heart's despair
or how your world has come undone"

The advice you give is mostly just encouraging the natural wisdom inside. I very much appreciate the wording:
"those common steps your being knows -
let mem'ries come as they see fit:
unbidden . . . fresh . . . as winter's snow..."
Awesome image!

And what really made it a 6er for me is the powerful closing lines!
I fee so deeply grateful that you wrote this!
I hope she fins a teeny tiny ease! A half percentile of ease is something!

Thank you!
I so love your beautiful, deep, wise soul!

Oh my goodness, J... I don't even know where to start. You have completely floored me with your review and I find myself unable to even find the right words to respond... I always write from the heart when it comes to matters of emotional reality and, being how I am, I've always taken a bit of a dislike to those 'pandering, it'll all be okay, just reach out' yada, yada, yada things...
No, it's NOT alright so don't try to tell me right now to be strong and that it will be, dammit! (of course, logically, we know it will be but now? in this day? in these weeks? it's just NOT.) I've taken so much flack for that over the years, but, again, it's just who I am.
So thank you for everything here and thank you for understanding... thank you for seeing me. :) ;) Yvette

Hello Yvette.

This is a touching verse for Yvonne. It is a tragedy when a parent loses a child. Your words are comforting and one thing you point out is how we cannot help someone in that situation, but we can understand and show compassion.

You're welcome Yvette. I don't have hours or a schedule anymore. I have much to do but there is no clock or calendar around here. I'm busy on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have a new office chair in the cave. It is good for naps too.
