You've written a dandy piece of satire, Brad. And in the center of it is an artist that refuses to be beaten into submission by limiting or diminishing the impact of his art. Of course the adherents and critics would come out of the woodwork as they did for the podcast discussion of his grand opening. Good work, Brad.

This is great satire and a worthy entry in the Dialogue Only Writing contest. You also have a brilliant picture making is clear how interesting the sculpture will be after dark. Lothar is the kind of artist I love to hate.

Hello Brad,
this was an amusing post. I liked the names you chose and the subject matter as well. It's amazing what passes for art. Years ago some leftist bonehead had put a crucifix in a glass of urine and called it art and some museum displayed it. I guess you don't have to visit the museum if you don't want to see such trash, but the real artists of the world should rise up and voice their complaint. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.

Well, art is subjective. This is a nice dialogue. I like the radio format. It works for this setting. And the subject of art will attract the voting writers.
Despite, the hole, I thought the callers were realistic. You would get all kinds of people and activists, no matter what you do in the public.
Good luck.

Lancellot, this is a comedy satire. The hole is a rediculous premise to express the stupidity of so-called experimental art.
I appreciate your review, and stars. Thanks, Brad

I know. I thought the callers were realistic sounding. That is a good thing.
Art can imitate life.

It is brilliant ! I enjoyed reading it. Wildly crazy and funny! A great dig at the artistic highbrows. And what names have you concocted!
At least the junked cars could warn the road hogs. The pit with no fence but artificial light for night viewing ....Very funny.

Wow, thank you, Sanka. So glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the stars! There's nothing more distasteful, than false art. It's a slap on the face for real artists. But in a way, those junked cars beat me to the keyboard. Every person that has to drive by that visual insult, knows the truth.

"A talk on falling into the Arts" uses a radio interview format to create an ad absurdum example of artistic license. It's not only funny, but it's frightening, as well. The artist who created an absurd and frightening artwork defends it by extolling its ecological importance and inventing crazy extrapolations of the logic of freedom. The interviewer is bullied into accepting the frightening, real risks this artwork presents to people innocently strolling through the park that houses the "art" work.
The radio-show style of this piece is knowledgeably written and includes call-ins from various listeners. This is an enjoyable read, and perhaps needs a sequel - uh-oh - to reach its deep conclusion.

I was totally engrossed in the radio station dialogue about the ecological message of the intellectual reality artist. The dialogue was clear, concise and realistic. The subject, on the other hand, was creative and unusual. Your artwork paired perfectly. Best wishes in the contest.

This was a very entertaining read. I really enjoyed it.
Lothario Antonistus Quimzog. [Did you make this name up? I so, I love it.]
The bowels represent the core of our planet. To walk up and gaze into the Anus is to imagine the very soul of our planet's existence, and grasp the dangers we are placing on it from above. [Great explanation.]

I like to write comedy stories, funny names is sort of a hobby.
Thanks for reading.

Omg. This is so bad. And by 'bad,' I mean Good-bad. Your Anus here is chock full to the rim with all kinds of really choice tidbits...to wit: Crissy Spankwell [see "bad" reference, line one], Effen Swallowtails. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Totally bad, that one. And, of course, imagining the "natural lighting" in the late-night hours for "viewing"...for artistic purposes, of course.
This was a totally delightful read. I will be recommending your Anus to everyone I know, Brad! Great work.

Thanks, Rachelle, as Billy Rae would put it, you are now a conisewer of the arts. Welcome to the crowd!

And proud of it, too!
Comment from Sandra Stoner-Mitchell
These 'artistic' displays are ridiculous! I remember not so long ago, when a cleaner went into an art display, and cleaning and sweeping through, she saw a load of rubbish left in the room. She swept it up and threw it away, only to be told later that it was a 'valuable' work of art!! I'm sure she could have done a better job. LOL. It's all nonsense! I really enjoyed this piece, at first I thought I was looking at a hole on the golfing green, and thought, even I couldn't miss that one!! Lol This was great, well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xxx

Thanks, Sandra. The poor cleaner might have gone home, grabbed the trash, sped back?dumped it on the floor. Nobody would have known the difference! The display might have even got better marks for authenticity. :>)

I'm sure it would! Isn't it all madness? I thought your story was hilarious. xxx
