So very graphic! All that doggy love just squandered. My heart is broken. I'm so appreciative you chose this subject to bring attention to this. I'm touched. Very effective and evocative poem. Good job. Good luck with the voting.

    Ciao !

It hurts to know how much suffering is going on ..and it hurts to see that most people don t want to know about it.

Dogs are so loyal but so many are mistreated ..

I don t want their sufferings to remain in silence so now and then I need to give them a voice ..

This is the first time I have seen a pic after their unjust demise...

    I couldn t ignore it

Thank you for acknowledging my wee poem .with a six star review!

The photo fills me with sadness and horror.. the statistics speak for themselves about how we humans do not consider our sentient co-inhabiters of this earth. Thank you for keeping this topic to the fore.
(I have a rescue cat.)

    Ciao rescuer!

The numbers are staggering but nevertheless each life saved is a victory ..

All my pets ( dogs and cats..) except one we?re homeless too.

When I saw the pic on Friday , it upset me ..

... we can?t just keep on ignoring their plight.

Seeing them lined up like that deals a lunch hard to forget ..

Owners need all to be more responsible pets must be sterilise and instead of buying a pet , adopt one ..

    Thank you for sharing !

Oh my God!
Of course I know on some level that unwanted dogs get killed but I've never seen a picture and the fact of it is rarely on my mind.
I love animals, especially dogs, who want only to serve/be friends with their owners.
This has affected me more than any other poem I've seen lately. Of course, pictures are generally more intense than words.
I appreciate your poem and hope it keeps this situation on our minds. We must not look away.
Blessing and keep writing.

I wrote the poem as a reminder that far too many dogs are treated badly.

I just voted for origami designs because it s a great entry ..( I do origami too..biggrin)

I had no expectations but in all honesty, it saddens me to see that the subject did not seem worthy of even one vote..

Over the years , I have saved some of these unfortunates ( mainly stray cats and kittens) ..

Instead of buying a pet , adopting one would save a dog and give it a second chance.

    Unfortunately not enough care.

Thank you for reviewing my wee poem.

    Keep safe!

You didn't get any votes? I'm sorry to hear that...you deserved votes. Sometimes topics are too intense for people and they turn away. I've seen that happen with other entries.
I voted for my own entry...Lady's Choice. I didn't used to vote for my entries in contests...I would choose the one I thought objectively was best. Then a friend said: If you can't support yourself why would you expect others to? I thought that was sound advice. There is no shame in it. Blessings for the future.--Cynthia

I liked your entry..the message ...but I went for origami for the reasons I already mentioned .

As far as voting goes......I respect your opinion ..

..but it s not a question of being a shame that I don't vote for myself..

I believe in what I write .. so I don t feel I need to vote for myself ..

I m interested to see if what I write has a meaning to others.

PS: I just checked I actually have two votes now .. seems some people do still care then ... that makes me feel better..

Nice talking to you Cynthia !

    Stay safe!

    ️Ciao !

This so needs to be posted everywhere. I am amazed at the picture and the volume of animals in it. I was unaware of the figures you gave that are euthanized pets. It really is staggering and sad. Thank you for sharing. Great job.

Yes the number is staggering .. a second pic was published with the one I posted ..

you could see puppies had been gassed ( sigh)

Owners must become more responsible ..sterilise their pets and
    adoption should be considered.

Also people should think hard before getting a pet ..so many owners dump unwanted pets once they are no more puppies or kittens.

Dogs are loyal to the end ... it upsets me to see so much abuse and death.

Thank you reviewing my wee poem.

    Keep safe!
