Feeling our own

Internal Pressure

by Jesse James Doty

We are always so quick to blame our troubles on external pressures such as our jobs, our spouses, our children, or even our grandchildren...the list goes on and on.

We can blame our friends or the grocer the baker the candlestick maker, and more when it is really our internal pressure that guides us to feelings of shame.

We are not always aware of our internal forces which lead to our feeling pressured by things we cannot control. So, we blame rather than feel the loneliness inside of us.

External pressures are not always the cause of our worries and troubles. It is more likely our own internal pressure leads us to do rash and immature actions. We tell ourselves that the world is out to get us and that we carry the world on our shoulders when in actuality we choose the actions we take and make ourselves miserable wishing that the world would treat us better.

It's a convoluted situation we find ourselves in daily. And it is our daily habits that make us who we are. So, realizing that our internal pressures are what guide us irrationally to blame others when we are really the ones to blame will give us the grace and freedom to choose our actions and make this world a better place for all.

This came to me as I considered what was really behind my stress.
