Forever and a day

I gaze upon the endless sky,
the sun is shining bright.
But if it ever were to dim
and bring on endless night...

It wouldn't change our hearts at all,
nor turn cold our sweet love.
Our love's a beacon that won't die,
a gift from God above.

I gaze upon the restless sea,
its power not denied.
But if it disappeared one day
and left the seabed dried...

It wouldn't change our hearts at all,
though missing it, we'd be.
Our kisses shared would quench all thirst,
sustaining you and me.

I gaze upon the mountains, strong,
they seem to touch the sky.
But if they all should turn to dust,
cause mother earth to cry...

It wouldn't change our hearts at all,
though, they've stood for all time.
Though beautiful, we need them not,
for our two hearts to climb.

I gaze upon your loving face,
with you, I want to be.
Imprisoned is my very heart,
it's you who holds the key...

My heart will never change at all,
nor will yours change for me,
though sun, sea, mountains, mayhap fade,
our love will always be.
