An opposite poem
A chapter in the book Thirty (hopefully) Poems for April
Cloudless
by Debra White
![]() What is spiky?
What is black?
What can’t you see
when skies are dark?
What can sink?
What brings drought?
What may be deeper
than a whale or submarine?
Whisper it to yourself...

I'm late starting NaPoWriMo this year, but I hope to catch up and write 30 poems in April.
Today I am using (loosely!) the prompt for day 3 from napowrimo.net
Write an opposite poem - Find a shortish poem that you like, and rewrite each line, replacing each word (or as many words as you can) with words that mean the opposite.
I waved my opposite wand over a poem for children that I found on Pinterest. The original poem is featured in the artwork and both are courtesy of Pinterest.
If anyone has a solution to the riddle that my opposite poem has turned into, please share it with me and I will include your ideas within the author notes.
Thank you :)
